Man, what a day! I woke up in Aveleda, and I swear, I thought it was just gonna be another chill day. But nah, life had other plans. First off, I hit the streets of Rua da Liberdade, and it was like a scene from a movie. The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and I was feeling good. But then, BAM! I stepped in a puddle. Like, who even leaves puddles in the middle of the street? Ugh, my shoes were soaked. So, I’m walking down Avenida da República, right? And I see this cute little café, O Pão Quente. I’m like, “Yes, coffee time!” I order a bica, and the barista, this dude with a wild beard, spills it all over the counter. I mean, c’mon! I just wanted my caffeine fix! But hey, he gave me a free pastry to make up for it. Sweet, right? After that, I decided to stroll through the Parque de Aveleda. It’s this beautiful park with trees and flowers everywhere. I was vibing, listening to my tunes, when I saw this old guy feeding the ducks. He was talking to them like they were his best buds. I couldn’t help but laugh. Like, who talks to ducks? But then again, maybe they’re better listeners than people. Then, outta nowhere, I hear this loud noise. A bunch of kids were playing football on the grass, and one of them kicked the ball right at me! I dodged it like a ninja, but I was like, “Dude, watch where you’re kicking that thing!” They just laughed. Kids, man. They don’t care. So, I kept walking, and I ended up on Rua do Comércio. There’s this little shop that sells all kinds of random stuff. I found a vintage vinyl of some old Portuguese fado music. I was stoked! I love fado. It’s like the soul of Portugal, you know? But then, I realized I didn’t have enough cash. Classic me. I had to put it back. Heartbreaking moment, for real. By now, I was getting hungry. I hit up this place called Tasca do Zé. The food there is bomb! I ordered some bacalhau à brás, and it was heavenly. I was in food paradise. But then, my phone buzzed. My friend was like, “Hey, let’s meet at the bar later!” I was like, “Sure, but I’m in a food coma right now.” After stuffing my face, I decided to walk it off. I headed towards the river, the Aveleda River, and it was so peaceful. I sat on a bench, just watching the water flow. It’s moments like these that make you appreciate life, ya know? But then, I saw a couple arguing nearby. Like, come on, guys! Not in public! It was awkward. I just pretended to be super interested in my phone. As the sun started to set, I made my way to the bar, Bar do Povo. It’s this cozy spot where everyone knows each other. I walked in, and my friends were already there, laughing and having a good time. I joined in, and we started sharing stories. I told them about my day, and they couldn’t stop laughing at my puddle incident. But then, the night took a turn. One of my friends spilled a drink all over another friend’s new shirt. It was chaos! Everyone was laughing, but I could see my friend was kinda mad. I mean, it was an accident, but still. We all ended up in a group hug, trying to make it better. By the end of the night, I was exhausted but happy. Aveleda had thrown me a rollercoaster of a day. From puddles to pastries, and everything in between. I love this place, with its quirky streets and random moments. It’s the little things that make life so damn interesting. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
