Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a dispatcher in Azenha is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First call comes in at 7 AM. Some dude on Rua da Liberdade is locked outta his car. Classic. I mean, who doesn’t check their keys? But hey, I’m not here to judge. I send a guy over, and while I’m on the line, I hear this commotion outside. Turns out, it’s a parade! Like, what? A parade on a Tuesday? Azenha, you wild! So, I’m juggling calls, right? One minute I’m sending help to the car guy, next I’m coordinating traffic for this parade. I’m like, “Yo, can we not have a parade when I’m trying to work?” But the vibe is electric. People are dancing, music blasting. I can’t help but smile. Azenha knows how to throw a party, even on a random Tuesday. Then, bam! My phone rings again. It’s a lady on Avenida da República. She’s freaking out ‘cause her cat, Mr. Whiskers, climbed a tree. I’m like, “Lady, it’s a cat, not a lion!” But she’s crying, and I can’t just leave her hanging. So, I send a guy with a ladder. I mean, who knew being a dispatcher meant being a cat rescuer too? While I’m dealing with that, I get another call. A guy on Rua do Comércio is complaining about a pothole. I’m like, “Dude, welcome to Azenha! Potholes are our city’s charm!” But he’s serious, and I get it. I mean, I’ve seen better roads in a video game. So, I log it, but inside, I’m rolling my eyes. By noon, I’m running on caffeine and chaos. I grab a quick bite at that little café on Praça da Alegria. Best pastel de nata ever! I’m munching away, and my phone buzzes again. It’s a traffic jam on Rua da Paz. I swear, if I had a euro for every traffic jam in Azenha, I’d be rich. I’m trying to reroute cars, and I can hear honking from my office. It’s like a symphony of frustration. Then, outta nowhere, I get a call about a street performer on Rua da Liberdade. He’s juggling fire! Like, what? I’m thinking, “This is Azenha, not a circus!” But people are loving it. I can’t help but laugh. Only in Azenha, man. Afternoon rolls around, and I’m finally catching my breath. But nope! A lady calls from Bairro Alto, and she’s lost her dog. I’m like, “Seriously? Is today the day for lost pets?” I help her out, and while I’m on the line, I hear a commotion outside. It’s a flash mob! Dancing in the street! I’m dying laughing. Azenha, you’re a trip! As the sun sets, I’m wrapping up my day. I’m exhausted but happy. Azenha is wild, unpredictable, and full of surprises. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I mean, where else can you rescue cats, deal with parades, and witness fire jugglers all in one day? So, yeah, that was my day. Just another Tuesday in Azenha. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
