Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a dispatcher in Calendario is like riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First call comes in at 8 AM. Some dude on Rua da Liberdade is stuck in traffic. Like, seriously? It’s a Tuesday! I’m thinkin’, “Bro, you shoulda left earlier.” But whatever, I send a driver. Then, boom! Another call. A lady on Avenida da República is freaking out ‘cause her cat’s missing. I mean, c’mon, lady! It’s a cat, not a kid! But I get it, I love my doggo too. So, I’m juggling calls, right? Then I get a wild one. A guy on Rua do Comércio says he saw a UFO. I’m like, “Dude, you sure it wasn’t just a drone?” But he’s adamant. “It was glowing!” I’m rolling my eyes, but hey, it’s Calendario. Anything can happen here. Around noon, I grab a quick bite at that little café on Praça da Alegria. Best bifana in town, no cap. I’m munching away, and my phone buzzes. It’s a driver saying he’s stuck on Rua da Estação. I’m like, “What now?” Turns out, a parade just popped up outta nowhere! Like, who schedules a parade on a Tuesday? I’m losing my mind. I’m trying to reroute drivers, but it’s chaos. People are dancing in the streets, confetti everywhere. I’m laughing, but also like, “C’mon, I got a job to do!” Then, I see this kid with a balloon, and I’m like, “Man, I wish I could just float away like that.” Afternoon hits, and I’m back in the zone. Calls are coming in hot. A lady on Rua da Liberdade again—she’s locked outta her car. I’m like, “Didn’t you just call me?” But I help her out. I’m a nice guy, after all. Then, outta nowhere, I get a call from a driver saying he’s stuck behind a parade float. I’m like, “Dude, just go around!” But no, he’s too busy filming it for TikTok. I can’t even. By 5 PM, I’m fried. I need a break. I step outside for some fresh air on Rua do Sol. The sunset is gorgeous, painting the sky all kinds of orange and pink. I take a deep breath, and for a sec, I forget about the madness. But then, my phone buzzes again. It’s a guy on Rua da Liberdade (again!) saying he’s lost. I’m like, “Bro, just look at a map!” But I guide him anyway. I’m a dispatcher, not a GPS, but whatever. Finally, the day winds down. I’m exhausted but happy. I love this city, man. Calendario is wild, unpredictable, and full of surprises. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. As I head home, I think about all the craziness. The UFOs, the parades, the lost cats. It’s just another day in the life of a dispatcher. And honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way.
