Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I wake up in Camacha, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m a typhlopedagogue, which is a fancy way of saying I teach visually impaired kids. So, I’m all about that patience and understanding. But today? Ugh. I’m walking down Rua da Igreja, and I trip over a cobblestone. Like, who even put these here? I’m pretty sure they’re out to get me. Anyway, I finally get to the school, and the kids are buzzing. They’re excited, and I’m like, “Yesss, let’s do this!” But then, outta nowhere, one of the kids, Miguel, starts crying. I’m like, “Dude, what’s up?” Turns out, he lost his favorite toy. I mean, come on! It’s a toy! But to him, it’s like losing a limb. So, I’m all in, helping him search. We’re tearing apart the classroom, and I’m getting all emotional. Then, I get a text from my buddy, João. He’s like, “Hey, let’s hit up that café on Rua do Mercado later.” I’m like, “Sure, but I gotta find this toy first!” So, I’m running around, and I finally find it under a desk. Miguel’s face lights up like it’s Christmas! I’m feeling like a hero, right? But then, I step outside, and it’s pouring rain. Like, seriously? I just found the toy! Now I’m soaked. I’m walking down Avenida da Liberdade, and I’m grumbling to myself. “Why does it always rain when I’m in a good mood?” I duck into a shop to escape the rain. It’s this cute little place selling handmade crafts. I’m browsing, and I see this amazing woven basket. I’m like, “I need this in my life!” But then I check the price. Oof. Not today, wallet. Finally, the rain stops, and I’m off to meet João. We hit that café, and it’s packed. I’m like, “Great, just what I need.” But we squeeze in, and I order a bica. Best coffee ever! I’m sipping it, and suddenly, I’m happy again. We start chatting about life, and João’s telling me about his new girlfriend. I’m like, “Dude, you’re moving too fast!” But he’s all starry-eyed, and I can’t help but laugh. Then, outta nowhere, this guy walks in. He’s loud, and he’s got this crazy hat. I’m talking like, “What even is that?” He starts telling jokes, and the whole café is cracking up. I’m dying. I mean, who knew Camacha had such a wild character? After a while, I’m feeling good. I’m laughing, joking, and just enjoying the vibe. But then, I remember I gotta get back to work. Ugh. Reality check. I head back, and as I’m walking down Rua da Escola, I see a group of kids playing soccer. They’re having a blast, and I’m like, “Man, I wish I could join!” But I can’t. Gotta be responsible. Finally, I get back to the school, and the kids are still buzzing. We wrap up the day, and I’m exhausted but happy. I think about all the ups and downs. Camacha, you crazy little town. You’ve got my heart. So yeah, that was my day. Full of surprises, laughter, and a bit of chaos. Just another day in Camacha, I guess!
