Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, Campo (pt) is wild. I woke up thinkin’ it’d be chill, just another day as a Visiting Prof. But nah, the universe had other plans. First off, I’m tryin’ to find my way to Rua da Liberdade. Sounds easy, right? Wrong! I took a wrong turn on Rua da Alegria. Like, seriously? I was feelin’ like a lost puppy. I mean, who names a street “Joy” when you’re feelin’ anything but? So, I finally get to the lecture hall. It’s packed! I’m thinkin’, “Wow, these students are actually interested?” But then I see a bunch of them on their phones. Ugh! I mean, c’mon! I’m spillin’ my guts here about the importance of cultural heritage in Campo. And they’re scrollin’ through TikTok. I almost lost it. But then, this one kid, Miguel, raises his hand. He’s like, “Prof, what about the history of the Mercado Municipal?” And I’m like, “YES! Finally, someone’s awake!” We dive into the history of that place. It’s got roots, man. Built in the 1930s, it’s where the locals get their fresh produce. I love that vibe. After class, I’m walkin’ down Avenida da República, feelin’ all pumped. But then, bam! I trip over a cobblestone. Like, who thought that was a good idea? I’m sprawled out, lookin’ like a fool. A couple of locals laugh, and I’m like, “Yeah, yeah, laugh it up!” But deep down, I’m just glad I didn’t spill my coffee. Then, I decide to grab a bite at this little café on Rua do Comércio. The food? Amazing! I ordered a bifana. If you haven’t had one, you’re missin’ out. Juicy pork, spicy sauce, all in a crusty roll. Heaven! But the waiter? He was a character. He kept callin’ me “Professor” like I was some kinda celebrity. I’m just a dude tryin’ to eat, man! After lunch, I stroll over to the Jardim da Praça. It’s beautiful there. The flowers, the trees, the vibe. I sit on a bench, just takin’ it all in. But then, outta nowhere, a pigeon decides my shoulder is the perfect landing spot. I freak out! I’m flappin’ my arms like a madman. People are starin’. I’m like, “Dude, I’m not a statue!” As the sun starts settlin’, I head to the riverfront. The view of the Rio Tejo is stunning. I’m feelin’ all philosophical, ya know? Like, life is a river, always flowin’. But then, I see a group of kids playin’ soccer. They’re kickin’ the ball around, havin’ a blast. I can’t help but smile. It’s those little moments that make life sweet. But then, I hear this loud crash. A guy on a bike just wiped out! I rush over, thinkin’ he’s hurt. But nah, he just laughs it off. “I’m good, man! Just a little tumble!” I’m like, “Dude, you’re braver than me!” Finally, I wrap up my day at a bar on Rua da Liberdade. I grab a drink, reflectin’ on the chaos. Campo (pt) is a mix of beauty and madness. I love it! The people, the streets, the unexpected moments. It’s like a rollercoaster, and I’m here for the ride. So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, laughter and chaos. Campo, you’ve got my heart. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
