Man, what a day! I swear, Castelo-Branco just threw me a curveball. I woke up thinking it’d be chill, ya know? Just another day in this beautiful city. But nah, life had other plans. So, I hit the streets, right? First stop, Praça do Município. It’s like the heart of the city. I grab a coffee from this little café on Rua da Liberdade. Best coffee ever! But then, boom! My phone buzzes. My buddy, Miguel, texts me. “Dude, meet me at the castle!” I’m like, “What castle?” I totally forgot about the Castelo de Castelo Branco. Classic me. I rush over, dodging people on Avenida da Liberdade. Seriously, it’s like a game of Frogger out here. I finally get to the castle, and it’s stunning! The views are insane. You can see the whole city. But then, I see Miguel. He’s with this girl, and I’m like, “Who’s this?” Turns out, it’s his new crush. Great, just great. I’m the third wheel now. We’re chilling, and Miguel’s all lovey-dovey. I’m just standing there, sipping my coffee, trying not to roll my eyes. Then, outta nowhere, this old dude starts yelling at us. He’s like, “Get off my lawn!” But we’re not even on his lawn! I’m thinking, “Dude, chill. We’re just enjoying the view.” But he’s relentless. I’m about to lose it. After that drama, we decide to hit up the Jardim do Paço. It’s a beautiful park, man. I love it there. We’re walking, and I’m trying to enjoy the flowers and the fountains, but Miguel’s too busy flirting. I’m like, “Bro, can we just enjoy the moment?” But no, he’s all about the girl. Then, I spot this street performer. He’s playing the guitar, and honestly, he’s pretty good. I’m vibing, feeling the music. But then, guess what? Miguel’s crush starts dancing. Like, full-on dancing. I’m cringing so hard. I can’t even. After that, we grab some lunch at a spot on Rua da Estrela. I order the bacalhau à brás. So good! But then, I spill it all over myself. Classic me again. I’m sitting there, looking like a mess, and Miguel’s just laughing. I’m like, “Thanks for the support, man.” Then, we decide to check out the Museu Cargaleiro. I’m not really into museums, but whatever. I’m just following the crowd. We get there, and it’s actually kinda cool. The art is wild. But then, I see this painting that looks like a toddler did it. I’m like, “Is this art or a joke?” I can’t help but laugh. Finally, we head back to the castle for sunset. It’s beautiful, right? But then, it starts to rain. Like, seriously? I’m soaked, and Miguel’s still trying to impress his crush. I’m over here, looking like a drowned rat. By the end of the day, I’m exhausted. I’m walking home, thinking about all the craziness. Castelo-Branco, you wild! I love this city, but man, it knows how to keep things interesting. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.
