Man, what a day! I swear, Costa-de-Caparica is wild. I woke up thinking it’d be chill, just another day in the sun, right? Nah, not even close. So, I hit the streets around 9 AM. First stop? A pastel de nata at that little café on Rua dos Pescadores. Best in town, no cap! I’m munching away, feeling like a king, when suddenly, this seagull swoops down. Like, bro, chill! It snatched my pastry right outta my hand! I was like, “What the actual heck?” I mean, who knew seagulls had such guts? After that, I decided to hit the beach. Praia de São João is my jam. The waves were massive today, like, perfect for surfing. I’m not a pro, but I can ride a wave or two. So, I grab my board and head out. But guess what? I wipe out. Hard. I’m flailing around, water everywhere, and I swear I saw a fish laugh at me. Ugh! Then, I’m walking back, soaked and salty, and I bump into my buddy Miguel. He’s always got some crazy story. Today, he tells me about this time he tried to impress a girl at the beach. He ended up getting stung by a jellyfish. Classic Miguel, right? We laughed so hard, I almost forgot about my pastry disaster. Almost. Later, I’m strolling down Avenida 25 de Abril, just vibing, when I see this street performer. Dude’s playing the guitar, and he’s actually good! I stop to listen, and before I know it, a crowd forms. Everyone’s clapping, and I’m feeling all the good vibes. I toss him a couple of euros, and he gives me a nod. Like, yeah, I’m a patron of the arts now. But then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring. I mean, like, torrential downpour. I’m sprinting for cover, dodging puddles like I’m in some weird video game. I duck into a shop on Rua da Liberdade. It’s a cute little place, selling all kinds of local crafts. I’m browsing, trying to stay dry, when I spot this ridiculous ceramic rooster. It’s bright blue and has this goofy smile. I can’t help it—I buy it. It’s now my new best friend. Finally, the rain stops, and I’m feeling kinda good. I head to the waterfront, where the sunset is insane. The sky’s all pink and orange, reflecting off the water. I pull out my phone to snap a pic, but my battery’s dead. Of course! Just my luck, right? As I’m standing there, feeling all the feels, I realize how much I love this place. Costa-de-Caparica is chaotic, but it’s home. The people, the food, the beach—it’s all a part of me. I mean, yeah, I had a rough day, but it was also kinda epic. So, I head back, my new rooster under my arm, thinking about how tomorrow’s gonna be another adventure. Can’t wait!
