Man, what a day! Seriously, Eixo is wild. I woke up thinking it’d be chill, you know? Just another day in this little corner of Portugal. But nah, life had other plans. So, I hit the streets around 9 AM. First stop? Café Central on Rua da Liberdade. Best bica in town, no cap. I’m sippin’ my coffee, feeling all fancy, when BOOM! A pigeon just poops right next to me. Like, c’mon, dude! Can’t a person enjoy their coffee in peace? After that, I decided to stroll down Avenida da República. The sun was shining, and I was vibin’. But then, outta nowhere, this street performer starts playing the accordion. And not just any accordion – it was like a cat fight mixed with a funeral dirge. I was like, “What is this madness?” But hey, I threw him a couple of coins. Gotta support the arts, right? Then I hit up the market on Rua do Comércio. Fresh fruits, veggies, and all that good stuff. I’m eyeing some strawberries when this old lady starts chatting me up. She’s like, “You know, back in my day…” and I’m thinking, “Lady, I just wanna buy some fruit!” But she’s got stories, man. I swear, she could talk for hours. I finally escaped with my strawberries, but not before she told me about her cat named “Biscuit.” Next, I decided to walk to the park. Parque da Cidade is a gem. I’m just chillin’ on a bench, munching on my strawberries, when I see this kid flying a kite. It’s all colorful and stuff, and I’m like, “Wow, that’s cool.” But then the wind picks up, and the kite goes rogue! It crashes into a tree, and the kid starts crying. I felt so bad! I wanted to help, but I was also laughing. Like, how does a kite even do that? After that, I was feeling kinda down. I mean, the kid’s tears were real. So, I decided to hit up my favorite gelato place on Rua da Alegria. I ordered a scoop of pistachio and one of chocolate. Life was good again. But then, I dropped my cone! Right on the pavement. I was like, “Nooooo!” It was tragic. Then, I thought, “Let’s go to the beach!” So, I hopped on a bus to Praia da Barra. The ride was packed, and I was squished between two people who smelled like they just came from a fish market. Not the best experience, but whatever. Finally, I made it to the beach. The waves were crashing, and I felt alive! I ran to the water, but it was freezing! Like, who turned the ice machine on? I screamed like a little kid. But then, I saw this group of surfers. They were catching some sick waves, and I was just in awe. As the sun started to set, I sat on the sand, watching the sky turn all pink and orange. It was beautiful. I thought about how crazy the day was. From pigeon poop to kite disasters, to gelato heartbreaks. Eixo, you’re a rollercoaster! I headed home, exhausted but happy. I mean, who knew a day could be so full of surprises? Eixo, you’ve got my heart. Can’t wait for tomorrow!
