Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I wake up in Entroncamento, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up the café on Rua da Estação. You know, the one with the best pastéis de nata? I’m all set for my morning fix. But guess what? They ran out! Like, how do you run out of pastéis in Portugal? I was fuming. I mean, c’mon! It’s like a crime against humanity. So, I settle for a bica. Not the same, but whatever. Then, I decide to stroll down Avenida 25 de Abril. Beautiful street, right? Trees everywhere, people walking their dogs, kids playing. I’m feeling good again. But then, outta nowhere, this kid on a bike zooms past me and nearly knocks me over! I’m like, “Dude, chill! This ain’t the Tour de France!” I swear, kids these days have no chill. So, I keep walking, trying to shake off the bike incident. I pass by the train station, and it hits me—Entroncamento is like the heart of the railways in Portugal. Trains everywhere! I love it. But then, I see a sign that says “Train Delayed.” Ugh! My plans to visit my buddy in Lisbon? Gone. Just like that. I’m ready to throw my hands up in the air and scream. But wait, it gets better. I decide to grab lunch at that little spot on Rua da Liberdade. You know, the one with the amazing bifana? I’m all excited, but guess what? They’re out of bifanas too! What is this, a conspiracy? I settle for a sandwich that’s basically cardboard. I’m not even exaggerating. I’m starving and mad. After that, I’m like, “I need some fresh air.” So, I head to Parque do Bonito. It’s a nice park, right? I sit on a bench, trying to calm down. I see this old man feeding pigeons. And I’m thinking, “Man, I wish I could be that chill.” But then, one of the pigeons swoops down and steals his sandwich! I can’t help but laugh. Like, that pigeon has some serious guts! Feeling a bit better, I decide to check out the local market on Rua da Cruz. Fresh fruits, veggies, and all that good stuff. I’m browsing, and I spot these amazing cherries. I’m like, “Yes! Finally, something good!” I buy a bunch, and as I’m walking away, I trip over my own feet. Cherries everywhere! I’m on the ground, laughing and crying at the same time. Classic me, right? By now, I’m exhausted. I head back home, thinking about how crazy this day has been. I mean, Entroncamento is usually chill, but today? It was like a rollercoaster. I plop down on my couch, and I’m just like, “What even happened today?” But you know what? Despite all the madness, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Entroncamento, with its quirks and surprises, keeps me on my toes. And hey, at least I got a story to tell, right?
