Wow, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I woke up in Ericeira, right? The sun was shining, waves crashing, and I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up Rua da Praia. You know, the one that’s like a postcard? I’m strutting my stuff, feeling like a total boss. But then, bam! I trip over a cobblestone. Classic me, right? I’m like, “Great, just what I needed.” My coffee almost spills. Almost. Phew! So, I finally get my caffeine fix at this cute little café, A Pensão. The barista, this dude with a killer beard, hands me my coffee and says, “Enjoy the waves!” I’m like, “Dude, I’m a Maiko, not a surfer!” But whatever, I smile and sip. It’s delish. Then, I decide to stroll down to the beach. The vibe is unreal. People are sunbathing, kids are playing, and I’m just soaking it all in. But then, I see this group of tourists trying to take a selfie. They’re blocking the whole path! I’m like, “C’mon, guys! Move it or lose it!” But they just laugh. Ugh, so annoying! After that, I head over to the Mercado Municipal. I love that place! Fresh fish, fruits, and all the local goodies. I grab some pastéis de nata. OMG, they’re heavenly! But then, I see this old lady trying to haggle over a fish. Like, lady, it’s not a car! Just buy it already! Anyway, I’m feeling all happy and stuff, right? But then, I get a text. My friend cancels our dinner plans. I’m like, “Seriously?!” I was looking forward to it. Now I’m stuck in Ericeira, alone. Not cool, universe. Not cool. So, I decide to hit up the cliffs at Praia dos Pescadores. The view is insane! I mean, the ocean stretching forever, the cliffs, the sky. I’m standing there, feeling all deep and philosophical. Then, I see a seagull swoop down and steal someone’s sandwich. I can’t help but laugh. Like, that bird has no chill! But then, outta nowhere, it starts to drizzle. I’m like, “Are you kidding me?!” I run for cover under this little shack. I’m stuck there, watching the rain. It’s kinda peaceful, but also annoying. I just wanna enjoy the sunset, ya know? Finally, the rain stops. I dash back to the beach, and guess what? The sunset is epic! Orange, pink, all the colors. I whip out my phone to snap a pic. But my battery’s dead! Ugh, typical! I just stand there, soaking it all in. As I’m walking back, I pass by Rua de São Sebastião. There’s this street performer playing the guitar. He’s amazing! I stop to listen, and for a moment, all my worries fade away. It’s just me, the music, and the vibe of Ericeira. I finally make it back to my place, exhausted but happy. I flop onto my bed, thinking about the day. It was wild, emotional, and totally unexpected. But that’s Ericeira for ya. Always keeping me on my toes! So, yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Ericeira, you crazy little town, you’ve got my heart!
