Man, what a day! Seriously, Fatima is wild. I woke up thinking it’d be chill, just me and my textures, right? Nah, not in this city. So, I hit the streets, and first stop was Rua de Santo António. I’m walking, vibing, and boom! This old lady nearly knocks me over with her shopping cart. Like, lady, chill! I’m just tryna get my morning coffee. But hey, she was sweet, gave me a smile. Made me feel all warm inside. Then I hit up this café on Avenida da Liberdade. Best coffee ever! I mean, I’m a texture artist, so I appreciate the froth, ya know? But the barista? Total grump. I asked for a cappuccino, and he just stares at me like I asked for a unicorn. Dude, it’s just coffee! After that, I decided to stroll by the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima. Wow, just wow. The vibe there is unreal. People praying, lighting candles, and I’m just standing there, soaking it all in. I felt this weird mix of peace and chaos. Like, how can a place be so serene yet so packed? But then, outta nowhere, this kid runs past me, and I swear he almost took my bag with him! I’m like, “Hey, kid! You tryna steal my textures?” But he just giggles and runs off. Kids, man. They’re either adorable or little thieves. So, I’m walking down Rua dos Pastorinhos, and I see this street performer. He’s playing the accordion, and it’s actually kinda good. I stop, throw him a couple of coins, and he gives me this huge grin. I’m like, “Dude, you’re the real MVP!” But then, I get a text from my buddy. He’s like, “Yo, let’s meet at the Fatima Market.” I’m thinking, “Great, more crowds.” But whatever, I’m down. So I head over, and it’s packed! Like, where did all these people come from? I’m trying to navigate through the stalls, and I see this amazing handmade pottery. I’m like, “I need this for my studio!” But the price? Oof. I mean, I get it, it’s art, but c’mon! I’m not made of money! Finally, I find my buddy at this food stall. He’s munching on some pastéis de nata, and I’m like, “Dude, save me one!” But he’s like, “Nah, you snooze, you lose!” I’m ready to throw hands, but then I see the look on his face. Pure bliss. So I chill. We end up chatting about life, art, and all that jazz. I’m telling him about my latest project, and he’s like, “Bro, you gotta add more color!” I’m like, “Dude, it’s textures, not a rainbow!” But he’s right. I need to step it up. As the sun starts to set, the sky over Fatima turns this insane shade of orange. I’m standing there, just taking it all in. It’s beautiful, man. Like, this city has its quirks, but it’s got heart. But then, just when I thought the day was winding down, I trip over a cobblestone. Classic me, right? I’m sprawled out on the ground, and this couple nearby bursts out laughing. I’m like, “Thanks for the support, guys!” But they help me up, and we all share a laugh. So, yeah, Fatima is a rollercoaster. It’s got its ups and downs, but that’s what makes it real. I’m exhausted, but I wouldn’t trade this day for anything. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
