Man, what a day! I swear, Foz-do-Douro is wild. I woke up thinking it’d be chill, just another day promoting some local spots. But nah, the universe had other plans. First off, I hit up Rua de São Miguel. Beautiful street, right? But I’m walking, minding my own biz, and boom! A seagull swoops down like it’s on a mission. I duck, but not before it drops a little “gift” on my shoulder. Ugh! Thanks, nature. Just what I needed. So, I’m all flustered, trying to clean up, and I head to the beach. The waves at Praia do Ourigo were insane! Like, I’m talking massive. I thought I’d take a pic for the ‘Gram, you know? But my phone decides to die. Classic. I’m standing there, salty hair, seagull poop, and no phone. Just me and the ocean. Then, I spot this cute café on Avenida de Montevideu. I’m like, “Okay, let’s grab a coffee and chill.” I order a bica, and the barista is super friendly. We start chatting about the best spots in Foz. He mentions this hidden gem, a little bar down by the river. I’m intrigued. But then, outta nowhere, this guy walks in. He’s loud, like, way too loud. He starts talking about how he’s the “king of Foz.” I’m rolling my eyes, but he’s kinda funny. He’s like, “I can get you free drinks at any bar!” I’m thinking, “Yeah, right.” But hey, I’m in a good mood, so I play along. After my coffee, I decide to check out that bar the barista mentioned. It’s down by the Douro River, and wow, the view is stunning! The sunset was like a painting. I’m snapping pics, feeling all artsy. But then, I realize I left my wallet at the café. Seriously? I’m about to lose it. I sprint back, dodging tourists and locals. Foz-do-Douro is packed today! I finally get to the café, and guess what? My wallet is gone. I’m freaking out. I ask the barista, and he’s like, “Chill, man. Someone turned it in.” Phew! I could’ve kissed him. So, I grab my wallet and head back to the bar. I’m feeling lucky now. I order a drink, and guess who’s there? Mr. “King of Foz.” He’s at the bar, holding court. I sit next to him, and he’s like, “You made it back! I knew you would.” I laugh, and we start chatting. Turns out, he’s actually a local artist. We end up talking about the art scene in Foz. He tells me about the murals on Rua de São João. I’m like, “I gotta check that out!” He’s super passionate, and it’s contagious. I’m feeling inspired. The night goes on, and I’m having a blast. We hit up a few more bars, and I’m meeting all these cool people. Foz-do-Douro is alive at night! The music, the laughter, the vibe—it’s electric. But then, I get a text from my boss. “Where are you? We need that promo done!” I’m like, “Seriously? I’m in the middle of a Foz adventure!” But I know I gotta get back to work. I wrap up the night, promising to come back to the bar. I’m walking home, feeling all the feels. Foz-do-Douro is a mix of chaos and beauty. I love it. I hate it. It’s everything. So yeah, that was my day. Seagulls, sunsets, and a “king.” Just another day in Foz-do-Douro, right? Can’t wait for tomorrow!
