Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I wake up in Fundão, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I’m heading down Rua da Liberdade, thinking about that coffee I need. Like, I can’t function without my caffeine fix. I stop at this little café, you know, the one with the weirdly awesome pastries? Yeah, that one. I order my usual, a galão and a pastel de nata. But guess what? They’re out of natas! I mean, c’mon! It’s like going to the beach and finding out there’s no sand. So, I settle for a bolo de bolacha. Not the same, but whatever. Then, I’m off to work. I’m an accountant, so you know, numbers, spreadsheets, the whole shebang. But today? Today was a circus. I get to the office on Avenida da República, and my boss is already fuming. Apparently, someone messed up the tax returns. And guess who gets to fix it? Yep, yours truly. I’m like, “Great, just what I needed.” So, I dive into the numbers. I’m sweating bullets, trying to make sense of this mess. I mean, who knew accounting could be this dramatic? I’m flipping through papers, and I swear, I found a receipt from a restaurant in Castelo Branco. Like, what even? I’m thinking, “Did I eat there? Did I forget?” My brain’s going in circles. Around noon, I decide to take a breather. I stroll down to Parque da Cidade. It’s beautiful there, you know? Trees, flowers, and all that jazz. I sit on a bench, trying to calm down. But then, this kid runs by with a soccer ball and totally kicks it right into my lunch bag! I’m like, “Dude, really?” My sandwich is now a soggy mess. I’m just sitting there, staring at my ruined lunch, thinking, “This is my life now.” After that, I head back to the office, still grumpy. I’m knee-deep in numbers again when my phone buzzes. It’s my buddy Miguel. He’s like, “Hey, let’s hit up that new bar on Rua da Estação tonight!” I’m like, “Dude, I’m buried in work!” But then I think, “Why not? I need a break.” So, I say yes. Finally, I finish the tax returns. I’m exhausted but relieved. I head home, change, and meet Miguel. The bar is packed! It’s got this cool vibe, and the drinks are flowing. I grab a beer, and suddenly, all the stress melts away. We’re laughing, joking, and I even try to dance a bit. Spoiler: I can’t dance. But who cares, right? Then, out of nowhere, this band starts playing. They’re amazing! I’m vibing, and for a moment, I forget about the chaos of the day. Fundão’s nightlife is something else, man. The energy, the people, it’s electric. But then, just when I think the night can’t get any better, I see this girl across the bar. She’s stunning! I’m like, “Okay, I gotta talk to her.” So, I muster up some courage and go for it. We chat, and it turns out she’s from Fundão too! What are the odds? We bond over our love for the city, the food, and the crazy stuff that happens here. As the night winds down, I’m feeling grateful. Fundão may have thrown me some curveballs today, but it also gave me some awesome moments. I head home, tired but happy. Tomorrow’s another day, and who knows what it’ll bring? But for now, I’m just gonna crash. What a wild ride! Fundão, you never cease to amaze me.
