Man, what a day! I swear, being a lifeguard in Lordelo is like riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. So, I roll up to the beach at Praia de Lordelo, right? The sun’s blazing, and I’m thinking, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m setting up my spot near the lifeguard tower on Rua da Praia. You know, the one that overlooks the water? It’s a sweet view, but then I see this kid, like, 10 years old, running around like a headless chicken. I’m like, “Dude, chill! You’re gonna trip and faceplant into the sand.” But nah, he’s too busy showing off for his friends. Classic. Then, outta nowhere, this lady starts yelling. I look over, and she’s freaking out because her inflatable flamingo is drifting away. I mean, c’mon! It’s a flamingo, not a yacht! But she’s acting like it’s the Titanic. I had to jump in and save that thing. I’m like, “Lady, it’s just a floatie!” But she’s all grateful and stuff. Whatever, I’m just doing my job. So, I’m back on my tower, trying to catch some rays, when I see this group of teenagers on Rua de São Pedro. They’re blasting music, and I’m thinking, “Great, now I’m a lifeguard AND a DJ.” But then, one of them decides to do a cannonball off the rocks. I’m like, “Dude, you’re gonna break your neck!” But he lands it like a pro. I’m half impressed, half terrified. Then, the real drama starts. This guy, probably in his 30s, starts swimming out too far. I’m yelling, “Hey! Get back here!” But he’s in his own world, probably thinking he’s Aquaman or something. I’m sprinting down the beach, heart racing. I’m like, “This is it. I’m gonna have to save a dude today.” Finally, I reach him, and he’s like, “I’m fine, bro!” But I’m not buying it. I grab his arm and pull him back. He’s all grumpy, like I ruined his day. I’m thinking, “Dude, I just saved your life. You’re welcome!” After that, I’m just trying to catch my breath when this little girl runs up to me. She’s got ice cream all over her face, and she’s like, “Mister, can you help me find my mom?” I’m like, “Sure, kiddo.” So, we start walking around Rua da Liberdade, and I’m scanning the beach like I’m on a mission. Finally, we spot her mom near the beach bar, and the kid runs off. I’m just standing there, thinking, “Man, I should get paid extra for this.” As the day winds down, I’m feeling a mix of exhaustion and satisfaction. I mean, I saved a flamingo, rescued a dude, and played detective. Not bad for a day’s work, right? But then, just when I think it’s over, a seagull swoops down and steals my sandwich. I’m like, “Really? Even the birds are against me today?” So, I pack up my stuff, head home, and think about all the craziness. Lordelo, man. It’s wild. You never know what’s gonna happen next. But hey, that’s what makes it fun, right? Can’t wait for tomorrow. Bring it on!
