Man, what a day! I swear, Margaride is wild. Like, I woke up thinking it’d be chill. Nope! Not even close. First off, I hit the streets of Rua da Liberdade. You know, the one with all the cute cafés? I was craving a bica, right? So I pop into this little spot, and guess what? They’re outta coffee! Like, how do you run outta coffee in Portugal? I mean, c’mon! I was ready to throw a fit. But then, I saw this old dude at the next table. He had this epic mustache, like a wizard or something. Made me laugh. So, I chilled. After that, I decided to stroll down Avenida da República. Beautiful street, man. Trees everywhere, people walking their dogs. I’m just vibin’, when suddenly, this kid on a bike zooms past me. Almost took me out! I mean, where’s the bike lane, bro? I was like, “Hey, watch it!” But he just laughed and kept going. Kids these days, right? Then, I hit up the Mercado Municipal. Oh man, the food! I could smell the bacalhau from a mile away. I’m drooling just thinking about it. I grab a plate, and it’s like heaven on a fork. But then, I spill it all over my shirt. Classic me! I’m standing there, looking like a total mess. Everyone’s staring. I just laugh it off. What else can ya do? Next, I decided to check out the Igreja Matriz. It’s stunning, man. The architecture is insane. I’m standing there, just soaking it all in, when this lady starts talking to me. She’s like, “You know, this church is over 200 years old!” I’m like, “Wow, that’s older than my grandma!” We both crack up. But then, I get a text. My buddy’s in town. He’s at the Praça da República, and he’s like, “Dude, come quick!” So I hustle over. I’m dodging people, tripping over cobblestones. I finally get there, and he’s surrounded by a bunch of locals. They’re all laughing and drinking. I’m like, “What’d I miss?” Turns out, they were playing some crazy game with a ball and a stick. I have no idea what it was, but it looked fun. So, of course, I jump in. I’m not great at it, but who cares? We’re all just having a blast. I’m laughing so hard, I almost forget about my coffee disaster. Almost. As the sun starts to set, the vibe changes. The lights come on, and Margaride looks magical. I’m standing there, feeling all the feels. It’s like the city wraps you in a hug. But then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, seriously? I’m soaked in seconds. Everyone’s running for cover, but I just stand there. I mean, why not? It’s Margaride! So, I end up at this little bar on Rua do Comércio. I’m dripping wet, but I don’t care. I order a vinho verde, and it’s the best decision ever. I sit there, watching the rain, feeling grateful. By the end of the night, I’m exhausted but happy. Margaride, you crazy city! You’ve got my heart. I can’t wait to do it all again tomorrow. Just maybe with a raincoat this time.
