Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I woke up in Moita, right? The sun was blazin’ through my window, and I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I hit up the local café on Rua da Liberdade. You know, the one with the best pastéis de nata? Yeah, that one. I ordered my usual, and the barista, this dude named Miguel, was like, “Hey, you want it with extra cinnamon?” I was like, “Dude, you read my mind!” So, I’m sittin’ there, enjoying my pastry, when suddenly, this old lady starts yelling at a pigeon. Like, full-on shouting! I’m thinkin’, “Lady, it’s a bird, chill!” But she was having none of it. After that, I decided to stroll down Avenida da República. The vibe was nice, people were out and about, and I was feelin’ good. But then, BAM! A kid on a skateboard zooms past me and nearly takes me out. I’m like, “Yo, watch it, mini Tony Hawk!” He just laughed and kept going. Kids these days, man. So, I finally made it to the park by the river. It’s beautiful there, you know? The Tagus is glistening, and I’m thinkin’ about how I should really write a song about this place. But then, I see this group of teenagers blasting music. Like, come on, I’m trying to vibe here! I mean, I love a good beat, but not when it’s drowning out my thoughts. I sat on a bench, pulled out my guitar, and started strumming. Just me and my six-string, right? But then, this random guy walks up and starts singing along. I’m like, “Dude, who invited you to my jam session?” But he had a decent voice, so I let it slide. We ended up jamming for a bit, and it was actually kinda cool. Then, outta nowhere, it started to rain. I mean, seriously? Moita, you’re kidding me, right? I packed up my stuff and dashed for cover under a tree. I was soaked, and my guitar was not happy. I was angry, like, “Why today?!” But then, I saw a couple dancing in the rain. They were laughing, spinning, and just living their best life. I couldn’t help but smile. After the rain stopped, I decided to head to the Mercado Municipal. You know, the one on Rua 1º de Maio? I love that place! Fresh fruits, veggies, and all the local goodies. I grabbed some chouriço and cheese. Perfect for a snack, right? But then, I bumped into an old friend, Sofia. We hadn’t seen each other in ages! We started reminiscing about our crazy high school days. But then, she dropped the bomb. “I’m moving to Lisbon next week.” What?! I was like, “No way! You can’t leave Moita!” I mean, who’s gonna keep me in check now? We laughed, cried a bit, and promised to stay in touch. As the sun set, I walked back home, feeling all sorts of emotions. Moita, you crazy little town, you’ve got my heart. I mean, one minute I’m angry at pigeons, the next I’m jamming with strangers and crying over friends leaving. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, laughter and tears. Just another day in Moita, I guess. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
