Man, what a day! I swear, Monsanto (pt) is wild. Like, I thought I knew this place, but today? Total rollercoaster. So, I woke up late, as usual. Alarm? Nah, who needs that? I rushed outta my tiny apartment on Rua da Ladeira. I mean, I love my little spot, but it’s like a sauna in there. Anyway, I hit the streets, and wow, the sun was blazing. Like, hello, it’s October, chill out, right? First stop? Café da Praça. Gotta get my caffeine fix. I ordered a bica, and the barista, this dude with a killer mustache, was like, “You want it strong?” I’m like, “Dude, I need it to slap me awake!” He laughed, and I got my coffee. Best decision ever. Then, I decided to stroll down Rua do Castelo. The views are insane! You can see the whole valley. I mean, who wouldn’t wanna snap a pic? But then, bam! I tripped over a cobblestone. Classic me. I almost dropped my coffee. Like, no way I’m wasting that liquid gold! So, I’m walking, coffee in hand, feeling like a boss. But then, I see this group of tourists. They’re lost, looking at a map like it’s a puzzle. I’m like, “Hey, you guys need help?” They looked at me like I was a wizard or something. I pointed them to the castle. “Just follow the path up, you can’t miss it!” They thanked me like I just saved their lives. But then, I got a bit annoyed. I mean, come on! How do you get lost in Monsanto? It’s not that big! Anyway, I kept walking, and I hit up the viewpoint at the top of the hill. OMG, the view! It’s like the whole world opened up. I felt like I was on top of everything. But then, outta nowhere, a gust of wind hit me. I swear, it almost knocked me off my feet. I was like, “Chill, nature!” I laughed it off, but man, my hair was a mess. I looked like I just survived a tornado. After that, I decided to grab some lunch. I went to this little spot on Rua da Fonte. The food? To die for! I had some chouriço and bread. Simple, but wow. I was in heaven. But then, the waiter spilled water on me. Like, seriously? I was soaked! I laughed it off, but inside, I was like, “Dude, you owe me a drink!” Then, I headed to the old part of town. The streets are so narrow, it’s like a maze. I felt like I was in a movie. I stumbled upon this cute little shop selling handmade crafts. I bought a tiny ceramic rooster. It’s a thing here, right? I thought it’d be a cool souvenir. But then, I got a bit lost. Again. I mean, how many times can one person get lost in a small town? I ended up on Rua da Igreja, and I was like, “Where am I?” I asked a local, and he just laughed. “You’re close, just keep going!” Finally, I made it back to the main square. I was exhausted but happy. I sat on a bench, just soaking it all in. The vibe, the people, the energy. Monsanto is something else. As the sun started to set, I felt this wave of gratitude. Yeah, it was a crazy day, but it was mine. I love this place, with all its quirks and surprises. I mean, who wouldn’t? So, that was my day in Monsanto. Full of ups and downs, but hey, that’s life, right? Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
