Wow, what a day! Seriously, Monte-Estoril, you’ve outdone yourself. I woke up thinking it’d be just another boring Tuesday. Spoiler alert: it was anything but. First off, I spilled coffee all over my favorite shirt. Ugh! It was a total disaster. I mean, who needs a clean shirt anyway, right? So, I threw on a random tee and dashed out the door. I live near Avenida de Saboia, so I thought, “Hey, I’ll just grab a quick pastel de nata from that bakery on Rua da Alegria.” But guess what? They were out! Like, how do you run out of those? It’s a crime, I swear. So, I’m walking down the street, feeling all grumpy, when I bump into my buddy Miguel. He’s always got that goofy grin. He’s like, “Hey, you look like you need a hug!” I just rolled my eyes. But then he dragged me to the beach. The sun was shining, and the waves were crashing. I mean, who can stay mad at that? We sat on the sand, and I felt my mood lift. But then, outta nowhere, this seagull swoops down and snatches Miguel’s sandwich! Like, seriously? Who knew seagulls were such thieves? We both just stared, mouths agape. I laughed so hard I almost cried. After that, I had to head to the office. I work on Rua de Lisboa, and let me tell you, traffic was a nightmare. I was stuck behind this old lady driving 20 km/h. I mean, c’mon! I could’ve walked faster! I was fuming, thinking about all the emails piling up. Finally, I made it to the office. My boss, Ana, was in a mood. She’s always in a mood. She starts ranting about some project that’s behind schedule. I’m like, “Chill, Ana! It’s not the end of the world.” But she just kept going. I swear, I could feel my blood pressure rising. Then, out of nowhere, the fire alarm goes off! Like, really? Just what I needed. We all had to evacuate. I was standing outside, waiting for the all-clear, and I thought, “This is ridiculous.” But then I saw the view of the coastline. The cliffs, the ocean, the whole vibe. It was breathtaking. I took a deep breath and thought, “Okay, maybe today isn’t so bad.” When we finally got back inside, I found out that the alarm was just a drill. A DRILL! I could’ve screamed. But then, I got a message from my friend Sofia. She was at the Casino Estoril and wanted to meet up. I was like, “Heck yes!” So, I rushed over there after work. The casino was buzzing with energy. I felt alive! We grabbed some drinks and started chatting about life. I told her about the seagull and the fire drill. We laughed so hard, I almost spilled my drink. As the night went on, I realized how much I love this city. Monte-Estoril has its quirks, but it’s home. The streets, the people, the beach—it all just clicks. By the time I got home, I was exhausted but happy. I flopped onto my bed, thinking about how crazy the day was. I mean, who knew a Tuesday could be so wild? I fell asleep with a smile, ready for whatever tomorrow brings.
