Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I wake up in Negrelos, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m heading down Rua da Liberdade, and I’m already late for my meeting with this client. Like, why do they always pick the most inconvenient times? Anyway, I’m rushing, dodging people like I’m in some weird video game. I swear, if one more person stops to take a selfie with the fountain, I’m gonna lose it. So, I finally get to the café on Avenida da República. It’s this cute little spot, but of course, it’s packed. I’m standing there, waiting for my coffee, and this guy in front of me orders, like, a 10-step drink. I’m like, “Dude, it’s coffee, not a science experiment!” But whatever, I’m trying to keep my cool. Then, I get my coffee, and it’s cold. COLD! I’m fuming. I mean, how hard is it to serve a hot drink? I take a sip, and it’s like drinking regret. Ugh. So, I’m about to complain, but then I see this little kid at the next table. He’s got chocolate all over his face, and he’s just grinning like he’s won the lottery. I can’t help but smile. Kids, man. They get it. After that, I head over to the park near the Igreja de São Miguel. It’s a nice spot, but today it’s like a circus. There’s a dog running around, chasing pigeons, and I’m just standing there, watching this chaos unfold. I’m thinking, “This is my life now.” Then, outta nowhere, I bump into my old buddy, Miguel. We haven’t seen each other in ages! We start catching up, and he’s telling me about his new job at some animation studio. I’m like, “Dude, that’s awesome!” But then he drops the bomb: he’s moving to Lisbon. I’m like, “No way! You can’t leave me here in Negrelos!” But he’s all excited about the big city life. I get it, but still… So, I’m feeling all nostalgic and stuff, and I decide to take a walk down Rua da Escola. It’s one of my favorite streets. The vibe is just chill, you know? But then, I see this street performer. He’s playing the accordion, and honestly, he’s terrible. Like, I’m cringing hard. But then, this old lady starts dancing, and it’s the cutest thing ever. I’m laughing so hard, I almost spill my coffee again. But then, BAM! My phone buzzes. It’s my client. They’re freaking out about the project. I’m like, “Chill, I got this!” But inside, I’m panicking. I mean, I’m just an artist, not a miracle worker! I rush back to my studio on Rua do Comércio, and I’m trying to focus. But my mind’s all over the place. I can’t stop thinking about Miguel leaving. I mean, who’s gonna get my weird jokes now? Finally, I sit down to work, and I’m in the zone. I’m sketching this character, and it’s coming out great. I’m feeling pumped! But then, I spill my drink all over my sketches. NOOO! I’m screaming internally. After that disaster, I decide to take a break. I head to the local bakery on Rua da Alegria. I grab a pastel de nata, and it’s like heaven in my mouth. Seriously, it’s the only thing that makes this day bearable. As I’m walking back, I see the sunset over the hills. It’s beautiful, and for a second, I forget all the craziness. Negrelos has this charm, you know? The streets, the people, the vibe. It’s home. So, I finally get back to my studio, and I’m exhausted. But I’m also grateful. Yeah, today was a rollercoaster, but it’s my rollercoaster. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I crash on my couch, thinking about tomorrow. Who knows what’s gonna happen? But whatever it is, I’m ready. Bring it on, Negrelos!
