Man, what a day! I swear, Oia (pt) is wild. Like, I thought I was just gonna chill, do some research, you know? But nah, the universe had other plans. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping. I’m like, “Today’s gonna be great!” I grab my coffee from that cute little café on Rua da Liberdade. Best coffee ever, no joke. I’m sippin’ my espresso, feeling all fancy. Then, boom! My phone buzzes. It’s my boss. “Need those reports ASAP!” Ugh, typical. I rush to the research center on Rua da Escola. I’m dodging tourists like I’m in a video game. Seriously, they’re everywhere! I mean, Oia is stunning, but c’mon, watch where you’re walking! I almost tripped over some dude taking a selfie. Like, dude, it’s just a building! Anyway, I finally get to the center. I’m typing like a madman. My fingers are flying over the keyboard. I’m in the zone, right? Then, the power goes out. Just my luck! I’m sitting there in the dark, thinking, “Great, now I’m gonna be late.” I step outside, and it’s chaos. The streets are packed. I mean, Rua da Praia is like a carnival. People everywhere, music blasting. I’m trying to get to the bus stop, but it’s like swimming upstream. I’m sweating, and my hair’s a mess. Then, I see this street performer on Rua do Mercado. He’s playing the guitar, and honestly, he’s pretty good. I stop for a sec, just to enjoy it. I’m swaying, feeling the vibe. But then, this kid runs by and knocks over my coffee! I’m like, “Noooo!” Coffee everywhere. I’m furious, but I can’t stay mad. The guy’s playing “Wonderwall,” and I’m singing along. Finally, I catch the bus. I’m crammed in there like sardines. I’m thinking, “Why do I live in a place where public transport is a nightmare?” But then I look out the window, and Oia is just beautiful. The cliffs, the ocean, the white buildings. It’s like a postcard. I get off at the stop near the lighthouse. I’m feeling a bit better. I walk down to the beach, and it’s stunning. The waves are crashing, and I can see the sunset starting. I sit on the sand, just breathing. Then, I see this couple getting engaged. Like, seriously? Right in front of me? I’m tearing up a bit. It’s so sweet! But then, I hear this loud crash. I turn around, and some guy just dropped his entire dinner on the sand. I can’t help but laugh. Like, dude, that’s a mood. I’m feeling all the feels. Happy, sad, annoyed, you name it. As the sun sets, I’m just sitting there, thinking about life. Oia is crazy, but it’s my kind of crazy. I love it. I mean, yeah, it drives me nuts sometimes, but it’s home. So, I head back, feeling all reflective. I’m walking down Rua da Liberdade again, and I see that café. I’m like, “Why not?” I grab another coffee, because why not? It’s been a day, and I deserve it. I sit outside, watching the world go by. Oia is alive, and I’m just a part of it. What a day, right? Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
