Man, what a day in Olhão! Seriously, I’m still buzzing from it. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m guiding a group of tourists. They’re all hyped to see the Ria Formosa. Beautiful spot, I mean, who wouldn’t wanna see that? But then, I realize I forgot my sunglasses. Ugh! Classic me. So, I’m squinting like a mole in the sun, trying to look cool while explaining the importance of the lagoon. We hit the Avenida da República, and I’m trying to keep the vibe up. But then, this one dude, let’s call him “Mr. Know-It-All,” starts arguing about the history of the place. Like, bro, chill! I’m the guide here! I’m the one with the facts! Olhão was founded in the 19th century, and it’s famous for its fishing industry. But he’s all like, “Nah, I read somewhere…” I’m like, “Dude, I LIVE here!” Anyway, we finally get to the market. Oh man, the Mercado Municipal de Olhão is a feast for the senses! Fresh fish, fruits, and all that good stuff. I’m trying to get everyone to try some local delicacies. “You gotta taste the octopus salad!” I say. But Mr. Know-It-All is like, “Ew, no way!” I’m thinking, “You’re missing out, man!” Then, outta nowhere, this seagull swoops down and snatches a piece of bread right outta my hand! I’m standing there, mouth agape, while the tourists crack up. I mean, come on! I’m the guide, not the bread dispenser! After that, we stroll down Rua 1º de Maio. It’s a cute street, lined with those whitewashed houses. I love it! But then, I spot a street performer. He’s playing the guitar, and I’m feeling all the vibes. I’m like, “Guys, let’s stop and enjoy this!” But Mr. Know-It-All is still yapping about some random fact. I’m losing it! Finally, we get to the waterfront. The view is stunning! The sun setting over the Ria Formosa is like something outta a postcard. I’m trying to soak it all in, but then I hear someone shout. It’s a kid, chasing a dog. The dog runs straight into the water! Everyone’s laughing, and I’m just standing there, thinking, “This is Olhão, man. You never know what’s gonna happen!” As the day wraps up, I’m feeling a mix of emotions. Happy, frustrated, surprised. I mean, that’s what makes guiding fun, right? The unexpected moments. I love this city, with its quirky streets and vibrant life. Olhão, you’ve got my heart! So, yeah, that was my day. Full of chaos, laughter, and a bit of drama. Can’t wait to do it all over again tomorrow!
