Wow, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I woke up in my little room on Rua da Alegria, right? The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I had a client at 10 AM. This dude, I swear, he was late. Like, really late. I was pacing around, thinking about how I could’ve had a coffee at Café Central instead. But nooo, I had to wait. Finally, he shows up, all flustered. I mean, come on, man! You know the drill. After that, I decided to take a stroll down Avenida da Liberdade. It’s such a pretty street, with all those trees and shops. I was feeling good, you know? But then, outta nowhere, it started to rain. Like, heavy rain. I’m talking about a monsoon, people! I ducked into a little shop on Rua de Cima to escape. While I was waiting for the rain to chill, I met this old lady. She was super sweet, selling handmade trinkets. We started chatting, and she told me about the history of Paredes. Did you know it used to be a big deal for the textile industry? Crazy, right? I was like, “Wow, I had no idea!” But then, my phone buzzed. It was my friend, Ana. She was freaking out about a party later. “You HAVE to come!” she texted. I was like, “Ugh, I just wanna relax.” But you know how it is. FOMO kicked in. So, I braved the rain and headed to the party at Rua da Estação. The vibe was lit! Music blasting, people dancing, and I was just trying to keep up. But then, I saw my ex. Ugh, the drama! He was with some girl, and I felt this wave of anger. Like, why does he always have to show up when I’m trying to have fun? I tried to ignore him, but then he came over. “Hey, long time no see!” he said, all smug. I rolled my eyes so hard, I thought I’d see my brain. “Yeah, well, I’m busy,” I shot back. I mean, seriously, dude? After that awkward encounter, I needed a drink. I grabbed a ginjinha from a nearby stall. It was so good! Sweet and tart, just like life. I was feeling better, laughing with friends, and then—BAM! A dance-off broke out. I was like, “Oh, it’s on!” I danced like nobody was watching. I mean, who cares, right? But then, I tripped over my own feet and fell. Classic me. Everyone laughed, and I just rolled with it. “I meant to do that!” I yelled, and they cheered. As the night went on, I felt this mix of happiness and exhaustion. Paredes is such a vibrant place. The streets were alive with laughter and music. I thought about how lucky I am to live here, even with all the craziness. Finally, I stumbled home, my feet killing me. I passed by the old church on Rua da Igreja, and it hit me. This city, with all its quirks and surprises, is my home. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but that’s life, right? Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
