Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I woke up in Peniche, right? The sun was shining, and I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up the local café on Rua da Liberdade. Best coffee ever! I mean, I’m an actuary, so I need my caffeine fix to crunch those numbers, ya know? But then, bam! My phone buzzes. It’s my boss. “Need those reports ASAP!” Ugh, like I’m not busy enough. So, I’m chugging my coffee, trying to focus. But then, I hear this loud commotion outside. I peek out the window, and there’s a seagull stealing someone’s sandwich! Like, dude, it’s Peniche, not a wildlife documentary! I couldn’t help but laugh. I mean, who knew seagulls had such guts? After that, I decided to take a stroll down to the beach. The waves were crashing, and I thought, “This is the life.” But then, I stepped on a piece of glass. Ouch! Seriously, Peniche, can we not? I was bleeding a bit, but whatever. I just wrapped my foot in a napkin from the café. Then, I walked along the Avenida do Mar. The view was stunning! The cliffs, the ocean, the whole vibe. I was feeling good again. But then, I saw a group of tourists trying to take a selfie with the lighthouse. They were all crowded, and one dude tripped and fell right into the sand. I couldn’t help but laugh. Like, bro, you okay? So, I finally made it to the fort, the Fortaleza de Peniche. It’s so cool! But guess what? It was closed for renovations. I was like, “Are you kidding me?” I wanted to explore, but nope. Just my luck. Then, I decided to grab some lunch at a little place on Rua da Esperança. The seafood there is to die for! I ordered the grilled sardines. Yum! But while I was eating, I overheard this couple arguing. Like, come on, guys, it’s Peniche! Chill out! After lunch, I thought I’d hit the market. The Mercado Municipal was buzzing! Fresh fish, fruits, and all that good stuff. But then, I got stuck behind this old lady who was taking her sweet time picking out tomatoes. I was like, “Lady, I got places to be!” Finally, I made it to the marina. The boats were bobbing, and I felt a bit more relaxed. But then, I saw my ex. Ugh, why? Why today? We exchanged awkward hellos, and I just wanted to disappear. As the day went on, I was feeling all sorts of emotions. Happy, angry, surprised. It was a rollercoaster! I mean, who knew Peniche could be so wild? By the time I got back home, I was exhausted. I plopped on my couch, kicked off my shoes, and just sighed. What a day! I love this city, but man, it sure knows how to keep things interesting. So, yeah, that was my day in Peniche. Full of ups and downs, laughs and facepalms. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
