Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I wake up in Perafita, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up Rua da Liberdade for some coffee. You know, the good stuff. I’m standing there, waiting for my bica, and this dude in front of me orders, like, a 5-minute monologue about his coffee preferences. I’m like, “Bro, it’s just coffee, not a life decision!” Finally, I get my drink, and it’s perfect. I take a sip, and boom! Happiness overload. But then, I step outside, and it’s chaos. Like, what’s happening? There’s a parade or something on Avenida da República. I mean, it’s cool and all, but I’m trying to get to work! People are dancing, music blasting, and I’m just standing there like a lost puppy. I’m thinking, “Can’t a Resnik get to work in peace?” So, I finally make it past the crowd, and I’m feeling good again. I’m walking down Rua da Escola, and I see this cute little bakery. I can’t resist. I grab a pastel de nata, and OMG, it’s heavenly. I’m munching away, and life is good again. But then, I trip over a cobblestone. Classic me, right? I spill half my nata on my shirt. Great. Just great. Now I’m walking around with a pastry stain like a badge of honor. I’m thinking, “This is how I’ll remember today.” I get to work, and my boss is like, “What happened to you?” I’m like, “Just living my best life, you know?” Then, the real fun starts. We have this big project due, and of course, my computer decides to crash. I’m sitting there, staring at the screen like it’s gonna magically fix itself. I’m sweating bullets. I mean, come on! I just want to finish this and go home. Finally, I get it back up, and I’m typing like a madman. I’m in the zone, and then—BAM! Power goes out. Seriously? In Perafita? I’m ready to throw my laptop out the window. But then, I hear laughter outside. I peek out, and it’s the parade again! They’re all dancing in the dark, like it’s a scene from a movie. I can’t help but laugh. So, I decide to join them. I mean, why not? I’m out there, dancing like nobody’s watching, and it feels amazing. I forget about the stress, the work, the coffee spill. Just me and the vibe of Perafita. After a while, the power comes back, and I’m like, “Ugh, back to reality.” But I’m still buzzing from the fun. I finish my work, and as I’m leaving, I bump into an old friend from high school. We start chatting, and it’s like no time has passed. We decide to grab dinner at a little spot on Rua do Comércio. The food is bomb, and we’re reminiscing about the good old days. I’m laughing so hard, I almost choke on my bacalhau. Classic! By the time I get home, I’m exhausted but happy. I think about how crazy today was. From coffee spills to parades, it was a rollercoaster. Perafita, you never fail to surprise me. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in this little city. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
