OMG, what a day! So, I’m a babysitter, right? And today was just... wow. I mean, Pombal is usually chill, but today? Nah, not at all. First off, I got to the house on Rua da Liberdade. Super cute street, but the kids? Ugh, they were bouncing off the walls. I swear, I thought I was babysitting a pack of wild monkeys. Like, how much sugar did they have for breakfast? So, I’m trying to keep them entertained, right? We decided to go to the Parque de Pombal. It’s this lovely park with trees and stuff. But as soon as we get there, one of the kids, little Miguel, trips over his own feet. I mean, come on, dude! He goes down like a sack of potatoes. I’m like, “You good, bro?” He starts crying, and I’m just standing there like, “Great, now I’m a babysitter and a therapist.” After I calmed him down, we hit the playground. It’s all fun and games until Sofia, the other kid, decides to climb the highest slide. I’m yelling, “Sofia, get down!” But she’s like, “No way, I’m a bird!” I’m thinking, “Girl, you’re gonna be a bird on the ground if you fall!” Then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, seriously? Pombal, can you not? We’re soaked, and I’m trying to herd these kids like they’re cats. We run to the nearest café on Avenida da República. I’m drenched, looking like a wet dog, and the kids are giggling. I’m like, “This is not funny!” But deep down, I’m laughing too. We grab some hot chocolate, and OMG, it’s the best thing ever. I mean, Pombal knows how to do hot chocolate. It’s thick and rich, like a hug in a cup. I’m sipping it, and suddenly, all the chaos fades away. But then, just when I think it’s chill, Miguel spills his drink all over the table. I’m like, “Seriously, dude?!” The café owner gives me this look like, “You better clean that up.” I’m scrambling for napkins, and the kids are just laughing. I’m thinking, “I’m never babysitting again!” After the café disaster, we head back outside. The rain stopped, but the streets are all slippery. We’re walking down Rua de São Sebastião, and I’m trying to keep them from slipping. But of course, Miguel decides to do a little dance. He slips, and boom! Down he goes again. I’m like, “This kid is gonna give me a heart attack!” Finally, we make it back home. I’m exhausted, like I ran a marathon. I plop down on the couch, and the kids are still buzzing with energy. I’m thinking, “How do they have so much juice?” Their parents come home, and I’m like, “You owe me big time!” They laugh, but I’m dead serious. Pombal is cute and all, but today? It was a rollercoaster. So yeah, that was my day. Full of chaos, laughter, and a bit of rain. I love these kids, but man, I need a nap. Or a vacation. Or both!
