Man, what a day! I swear, Ponta-Delgada really knows how to throw a curveball. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m an anticorrosion agent, which sounds fancy but really just means I deal with rust and metal stuff. You know, keeping things shiny and new. Anyway, I had a meeting at this café on Rua da Conceição. Cute little spot, but the coffee? Ugh, it was like they brewed it with dirty socks. I’m sitting there, trying to look professional, but I’m dying inside. Then, outta nowhere, this guy spills his drink all over my notes. Like, seriously? I’m just trying to save the world from rust, and this dude’s making it harder. I was ready to throw my coffee at him, but I just took a deep breath. Ponta-Delgada’s got this vibe, you know? Chill, laid-back, but I was NOT feeling it. After that, I had to head to the port. The view from there? Breathtaking! But the traffic on Avenida Infante Dom Henrique? Don’t even get me started. I was stuck behind this old lady driving like she was in a parade. I mean, c’mon! I’ve got places to be! I was yelling at my steering wheel like it could hear me. “Hurry up, lady!” Finally, I get to the port, and guess what? My shipment of anticorrosion stuff is late. Like, really late. I’m pacing around, looking at the ocean, and it’s beautiful, but I’m fuming. I mean, I love the ocean, but not when it’s messing with my schedule. The waves crashing against the rocks on the coast of São Miguel? Gorgeous, but I’m just seeing red. Then, out of nowhere, I bump into my buddy Miguel. He’s this local fisherman, always cracking jokes. He sees me all stressed and says, “Dude, you look like you just lost a fight with a rusty boat!” I couldn’t help but laugh. He’s right! I’m like, “Yeah, man, I’m fighting corrosion, not winning!” We end up grabbing some lunch at this spot on Rua do Mercado. The seafood there? To die for! I had the best grilled limpets. Seriously, if you’re in Ponta-Delgada, you gotta try them. They’re like little ocean hugs. But while I’m eating, I get a call. It’s my boss. He’s like, “Where’s the shipment?” I’m like, “Dude, I’m trying to eat here!” After lunch, I decide to take a stroll by the marina. The boats are bobbing, the sun’s shining, and I’m finally starting to chill. But then, I see this seagull swoop down and steal someone’s sandwich. I’m cracking up! Like, that bird’s got guts! I’m thinking, “Maybe I should take notes from that seagull. Just go for it!” But then, I get a text. My shipment’s finally here! I’m like, “YES!” I rush back to the port, and it’s like a scene from a movie. The sun’s setting, casting this golden glow over everything. I’m feeling all emotional, like I just conquered the world. I finally get my stuff, and I’m heading home, feeling like a champ. Ponta-Delgada, you crazy city! You made me laugh, you made me mad, but you also made me appreciate the little things. I mean, who knew a day could be so wild? So, yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Ponta-Delgada, you’ve got my heart, even if you drive me nuts sometimes!
