Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I’m a librarian, right? And today in Pontinha was just... wow. Like, I woke up thinking it’d be a chill day. You know, just me, my books, and the usual crowd. But nah, life had other plans. First off, I’m walking down Rua da Liberdade, and it’s like, 8 AM. I’m half-awake, dragging my feet, and boom! I step in a puddle. Not just any puddle, but the biggest one ever. My shoes are soaked. Great start, right? I’m already cursing the weather. Like, can’t a librarian catch a break? So, I finally get to the library, and it’s packed. I mean, who knew Pontinha had so many bookworms? I’m talking kids, teens, old folks—everyone’s there. I’m like, “Did I miss a memo or something?” Turns out, there’s a book fair happening. Ugh, I love books, but the chaos? Not my vibe. Then, this kid—let’s call him Miguel—runs up to me. He’s like, “Miss, where’s the Harry Potter section?” I’m like, “Dude, it’s right over there.” But he’s already zooming off, and I’m just standing there, shaking my head. Kids these days, I swear. And then, outta nowhere, the power goes out. Just like that! I’m in the middle of helping a lady find a cookbook, and poof! Darkness. I’m fumbling around, trying to find my phone for light. I’m like, “Great, now I’m a librarian in the dark.” But then, something cool happens. The kids start telling stories. Like, they’re sitting on the floor, and it turns into this impromptu storytelling session. I’m sitting there, listening, and it’s actually kinda magical. I mean, who knew Pontinha’s kids had such wild imaginations? I’m laughing, and for a moment, I forget about the power outage. After a while, the lights flicker back on, and I’m like, “Yay, we’re saved!” But then, I see the line for the checkout. It’s like, a mile long. I’m thinking, “Why do I even bother?” But I put on my best librarian smile and get to work. Then, I get a call from my buddy, João. He’s like, “Hey, wanna grab a drink later?” I’m like, “Dude, I just survived a book fair in Pontinha. I need a drink like a fish needs water.” He laughs and says he’ll meet me at that little café on Rua da Estação. Perfect! But wait, there’s more! As I’m closing up, I find this old book. It’s dusty and kinda falling apart, but it’s got this cool map of Pontinha from like, forever ago. I’m flipping through it, and I’m like, “Whoa, this is history!” I can’t believe I almost missed it. Finally, I lock up and head to the café. I’m still buzzing from the day’s craziness. I get there, and João’s already waiting. He’s got this huge grin, and I’m like, “Dude, you look like you just won the lottery.” He laughs and says, “Nah, just happy to see you.” Aww, friendship goals, right? We sit outside, sipping our drinks, and I’m telling him about the day. The puddle, the power outage, the kids’ stories. He’s cracking up, and I’m just glad to unwind. As the sun sets over Pontinha, I’m feeling all the feels. This city, man. It’s got its quirks, but it’s home. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Even on the craziest days, it’s still my favorite place. So yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in Pontinha. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
