Man, what a day! I woke up in Queluz, and I swear, I thought it was just gonna be another chill day. But nah, life had other plans. First off, I’m an ichthyologist, right? Fish are my jam. But today? Today was all about the chaos. So, I’m strolling down Rua da Liberdade, just vibin’ with my coffee. You know, the usual. I’m thinking about fish migration patterns or whatever. Then BAM! I see this huge crowd near the Queluz National Palace. Like, what’s going on? I’m curious, so I wander over. Turns out, there’s some festival or something. People are dancing, music’s blasting, and I’m just standing there like a fish outta water. I’m trying to enjoy it, but then I see this dude juggling fish. I mean, c’mon! I’m an ichthyologist, not a clown! I got mad. Like, dude, those fish are not props! They’re living creatures! But then I thought, maybe he’s just trying to raise awareness? I dunno. I’m conflicted. Anyway, I keep walking, and I hit up Rua da Estação. I’m on a mission to find this little fish market I heard about. I’m all excited, right? But then I trip over a cobblestone. Classic Queluz! These streets are beautiful but brutal. I almost face-planted! Finally, I get to the market. It’s packed! I’m looking for fresh sardines, but all I see are people haggling. I’m like, “Yo, I just want some fish!” But no, it’s a whole scene. I’m getting impatient. I mean, I love fish, but I don’t wanna fight for ‘em! Then, outta nowhere, this old lady starts chatting me up. She’s like, “You like fish, huh?” I’m like, “Yeah, I study them.” And she goes, “You should try the bacalhau here. Best in town!” I’m thinking, “Lady, I’m an ichthyologist, not a chef!” But I smile and nod. After that, I decide to take a breather at the Jardim da Amizade. It’s a nice park, you know? I plop down on a bench, and I’m just watching the world go by. Kids are playing, couples are arguing, and I’m just there, lost in my thoughts. I start thinking about how fish have it easy. No drama, just swim and eat. But then, I hear this loud noise. I look up, and there’s a parade coming through! Like, seriously? I can’t catch a break! It’s all colorful and loud, and I’m just trying to chill. But then, I see this giant fish float. I can’t help but laugh. It’s like they knew I was in town! I snap a pic for the ‘gram, and suddenly, I’m feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. I mean, how often do you see a giant fish float in Queluz? It’s a vibe! As the day winds down, I head back to my place on Rua da Rainha. I’m exhausted but happy. I think about how unpredictable life is. One minute you’re just trying to grab some fish, and the next, you’re in a parade. So yeah, Queluz, you wild! You’ve got your cobblestones, your fish jugglers, and your parades. I love it, even when it drives me nuts. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
