Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a shepherd in Ramada is no walk in the park. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s blazin’ through my window on Rua da Liberdade. I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I head to the market at Praça da República. I’m just tryin’ to grab some fresh bread, ya know? But the line? Oh boy, it was longer than my sheep’s wool in winter! I’m standin’ there, watchin’ this old lady haggle over a loaf like it’s gold. Like, lady, it’s just bread! I’m about to lose it. Finally, I get my bread and head out. But then, BAM! A pigeon poops right on my shoulder. I mean, c’mon! I’m just tryin’ to live my life here. So, I’m walkin’ down Avenida da Liberdade, tryin’ to wipe this stuff off, and I see this street performer. He’s playin’ the accordion like he’s the next big thing. I stop, chuckle a bit. I mean, who doesn’t love a good accordion jam? But then, I notice a group of tourists takin’ selfies with him. They’re all like, “Look at this local talent!” I’m thinkin’, “Dude, he’s just tryin’ to make a buck.” But hey, whatever floats their boat, right? So, I keep strollin’ and head to the park near the river. It’s called Parque da Cidade, I think? Beautiful spot, man. I sit down, munchin’ on my bread, and just chill. But then, I see this kid runnin’ after a frisbee. He trips, falls, and lands right in a puddle. I can’t help but laugh. I mean, it’s a classic move! But then, I get a call from my buddy Miguel. He’s like, “Dude, you gotta come to the café on Rua do Comércio. They got this new coffee that’ll blow your mind!” I’m like, “I’m on my way!” So, I sprint over there, dodgin’ people like I’m in some kinda video game. When I get there, the place is packed. I finally find Miguel, and he’s sippin’ this fancy coffee like he’s royalty. I order one, too. And let me tell ya, it was like liquid gold! I’m buzzin’ off that caffeine, feelin’ like I could take on the world. But then, outta nowhere, the power goes out! The whole café goes dark. People are freakin’ out, and I’m just sittin’ there, laughin’. I mean, c’mon! It’s just a little blackout. But then, the barista pulls out a candle, and we all start singin’ some random songs. It was wild! After that, I head back to my flock. I’m walkin’ down Rua da Estação, and I see my sheep just chillin’. They’re lookin’ at me like, “Where you been, dude?” I’m like, “Sorry, guys! Had a day!” But then, I notice one of ‘em, Baa-bara (yeah, I named her), is missing. I’m like, “No way!” I start searchin’ everywhere. I’m runnin’ around like a madman, callin’ her name. Finally, I find her munchin’ on some flowers near the fountain. I’m like, “Baa-bara! You can’t just wander off like that!” By the time I get home, I’m exhausted. But I can’t help but smile. Ramada, man. It’s crazy, it’s beautiful, and it’s home. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Even with the pigeon poop and the blackout. Just another day in the life of a shepherd, I guess!
