Man, what a day! I swear, Real (pt) never fails to surprise me. Woke up late, as usual. Alarm? Nah, who needs that? So, I’m rushing outta my apartment on Rua da Prata, tryna grab a coffee at that little spot on the corner. You know the one? The barista there is always grumpy, but today? He was actually smiling! Like, what’s up with that? Did he win the lottery or something? Grabbed my café com leite and bolinho de chuva, and I’m out the door. But then, bam! I step right into a pigeon poop bomb. Ugh, seriously? I’m like, “Great, just what I needed.” So, I’m hopping on one foot, trying to clean my shoe on the sidewalk of Avenida da Liberdade. People are staring, and I’m just like, “Yeah, this is my life now.” Then, I decide to hit up the Mercado da Ribeira. I mean, who doesn’t love a good food market, right? The vibe there is always lit. I’m walking through, and the smell of fresh seafood hits me. I’m drooling. I see this guy selling octopus, and I’m like, “Dude, I need that in my life.” So, I buy a plate, and it’s amazing. But then, I spill half of it on my shirt. Classic me. Now I look like I just got into a food fight. After that, I’m feeling kinda good, you know? So, I stroll down Rua Augusta, checking out the street performers. There’s this dude juggling fire, and I’m like, “Bro, chill! You’re gonna set yourself on fire!” But he’s nailing it, and the crowd is hyped. I’m clapping, feeling all the good vibes. But then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring. Like, seriously? I’m soaked in seconds. I duck into a café, and guess who’s there? My ex. Great. Just what I wanted. We start talking, and it’s awkward. I’m trying to act cool, but inside, I’m like, “Why did I ever date this person?” After that, I needed a drink. So, I hit up a bar on Rua do Comércio. The bartender is this chill guy, and he pours me a gin and tonic that’s basically a swimming pool. I’m sipping it, and suddenly, I’m feeling all philosophical. Like, “What’s the meaning of life?” But then I remember I just spilled food on myself, and I’m like, “Maybe it’s just to enjoy good food and drinks?” As the night rolls in, I’m wandering around Bairro Alto. The streets are alive, music blasting everywhere. I bump into some friends, and we end up dancing in the street. I’m laughing, feeling free. But then, I see a guy trying to pickpocket someone. My heart drops. I shout, “Hey! Get your hands off!” The guy bolts, and I’m like, “Did I just save the day?” Finally, I’m heading home, and I can’t help but think about how wild today was. From pigeon poop to fire jugglers, to awkward exes and saving the day. Real (pt) is a rollercoaster, man. I love it, I hate it, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another crazy adventure in this beautiful, chaotic city. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
