Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I woke up in Refojos-de-Basto, right? This little gem in Portugal, surrounded by mountains and all that nature stuff. I mean, who knew a place could be so chill yet so wild at the same time? First off, I hit the streets. I’m talking about Rua da Igreja, where the vibe is just... I dunno, magical? The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and I was like, “Today’s gonna be epic!” Spoiler alert: it was, but not in the way I thought. So, I’m strolling, minding my own biz, when I bump into this old dude. He’s like, “Hey, you know where the best pastel de nata is?” I’m like, “Dude, I’m not a tour guide!” But then I thought, why not? So, I took him to this little café on Rua do Comércio. Best decision ever! We ended up chatting about life, and he told me stories from the old days. I was laughing so hard, I almost spilled my coffee. But then, bam! Outta nowhere, it started pouring. I mean, like, torrential downpour. I’m soaked, my hair’s a mess, and I’m just standing there like a drowned rat. I was so mad! Why, Refojos, why? I thought we were friends! So, I ducked into this shop on Avenida da Liberdade. It’s a cute little place, full of handmade stuff. I found this quirky ceramic cat that looked just like my ex’s cat. I laughed so hard, I almost bought it just to send a pic to her. But then I thought, nah, I’ll save my money for more important things, like food. After the rain, the sun came back out, and everything smelled fresh. I decided to hit up the park near the river. It’s called Parque de Lazer, and let me tell you, it’s a vibe. I plopped down on a bench, just chillin’, when I saw this family having a picnic. They had all this food laid out, and I was like, “Man, I need to crash that party!” So, I walked over, and they were super nice. They offered me some chouriço and bread. I mean, who can say no to that? We ended up talking about everything—life, politics, the best places to eat in Refojos. I was on cloud nine! But then, outta nowhere, this kid runs by, trips, and spills juice all over my shoes. I was like, “Are you kidding me?” I mean, come on! I just got these shoes! But the kid looked so scared, I couldn’t even be mad. I just laughed it off. Kids, man. Later, I decided to check out the local market on Rua da Feira. It’s always buzzing with energy. I love it! Fresh fruits, veggies, and all these cool handmade crafts. I bought some figs and a bottle of local wine. Gotta support the local peeps, right? As I was leaving, I ran into my buddy Miguel. He’s always up for an adventure. We ended up wandering around, getting lost in the narrow streets. I swear, Refojos has the twistiest roads ever! We found this hidden viewpoint that overlooked the whole valley. It was breathtaking! I mean, I could’ve stayed there forever. But then, Miguel had to ruin the moment by trying to take a selfie. He’s like, “Dude, get in the pic!” I’m like, “Nah, man, I’m not ready for my close-up!” But I did it anyway. Gotta capture the memories, right? As the sun set, we headed back. I was exhausted but happy. Refojos-de-Basto had thrown me a rollercoaster of a day. I felt every emotion—anger, joy, surprise. It was wild! So, yeah, that was my day. Just another crazy adventure in this beautiful little town. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
