Man, today was a wild ride in Rio-de-Mouro! Like, seriously, I can’t even. So, I woke up, right? Sun shining, birds chirping, all that jazz. I’m a Maiko, so I gotta look fab, but today? Ugh, I was running late. First off, I spilled my tea all over my kimono. Great start, huh? I live on Rua da Liberdade, and let me tell ya, that street is always buzzing. I dashed out, trying to fix my hair while dodging the old ladies gossiping on the corner. They were like, “Look at that Maiko, always in a rush!” Thanks, ladies, I needed that. So, I finally made it to the train station at Estação de Rio-de-Mouro. It was packed! I mean, who knew everyone and their grandma would be out today? I squeezed in, and this dude next to me was blasting some weird music. Like, bro, chill. I’m trying to vibe here, not get a headache. Then, I got off at the wrong stop. Ugh! I was supposed to go to Avenida da República, but I ended up at some random place. I was like, “What the heck?!” I had to walk back, and it was hot. I mean, I was sweating like a pig in a sauna. Finally, I made it to the tea house on Rua do Comércio. It’s my fave spot. The owner, Maria, always knows how to make me smile. She’s like, “You look like you’ve been through a war!” I laughed, but inside, I was like, “Girl, you have no idea.” So, I’m sipping my tea, trying to chill, when this little kid runs in, all excited. He’s like, “Maiko! Maiko! Can you show me some moves?” I was like, “Sure, kiddo!” I did a little twirl, and he was clapping like I was a rockstar. That made my day, honestly. But then, outta nowhere, this guy barges in. He’s yelling about something. I couldn’t even hear him over the noise. Turns out, he was mad about the prices. Like, dude, it’s a tea house, not a supermarket! Chill out! After that chaos, I decided to take a stroll down Rua da Estação. It’s such a pretty street, with all the flowers and stuff. I was feeling good again, just soaking in the vibes. But then, I tripped over a loose cobblestone. Classic me, right? I fell, and this old man laughed. I was like, “Really, dude?!” I got up, brushed myself off, and kept walking. I passed by the park near the river, and it was so peaceful. I sat on a bench, just watching the world go by. Kids playing, couples laughing, and I thought, “This is what life’s about.” But then, my phone buzzed. It was my friend, asking if I wanted to go to a party later. I was like, “Heck yes!” I needed to unwind after this crazy day. So, I headed home, thinking about all the madness. Rio-de-Mouro is wild, but it’s my home. I love the streets, the people, the chaos. It’s like a rollercoaster, and I’m just hanging on for the ride. By the time I got home, I was exhausted but happy. I flopped on my bed, thinking about how tomorrow’s gonna be another adventure. Can’t wait!
