Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I wake up in my cozy little flat on Rua da Liberdade, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I had a session with this young footballer, Miguel. Kid’s got talent, but his head? All over the place. We met at the park near the Jardim da Luz. Beautiful spot, by the way. I’m trying to get him to focus, and he’s just staring at the pigeons like they’re the next Ronaldo or something. I’m like, “Dude, focus!” But nah, he’s too busy plotting his next move against the birds. Classic. Then, outta nowhere, this old lady comes up to us. She’s got this massive bag of olives. I mean, like, a whole olive farm in her bag. She starts lecturing us about the best olives in Santo António dos Olivais. I’m thinking, “Lady, I’m trying to help this kid not lose his mind over pigeons!” But she’s relentless. “You young folks don’t appreciate the good stuff!” I’m just nodding, trying to keep my cool. After that, I head over to the café on Avenida de Roma. I need a coffee, like, yesterday. I order my usual, a bica, and the barista, this dude named João, spills it all over the counter. I’m like, “Great, just what I needed.” But he’s super apologetic, and I can’t stay mad. He’s like, “Next one’s on me!” Sweet, right? But then he makes it extra strong. I’m buzzing like a bee on steroids. So, I’m walking down Rua da Escola, feeling all jittery, when I bump into my buddy, Carlos. He’s a local coach, and he’s got this wild idea about starting a community sports program. I’m all in, but then he mentions we’ll need to fundraise. I’m like, “Dude, I can barely fund my coffee habit!” But we start brainstorming, and suddenly, I’m feeling pumped. Then, BAM! Outta nowhere, it starts pouring. I mean, like, torrential downpour. I’m soaked in seconds. I duck into a shop on Rua do Comércio, and guess what? They’re selling these ridiculous raincoats with cartoon characters on them. I can’t help it; I buy one. I look like a walking joke, but hey, at least I’m dry now. Later, I finally get home, and I’m just done. I flop on my couch, still in that goofy raincoat. I can’t stop laughing at my day. I mean, who else gets lectured about olives, spills coffee, and buys a cartoon raincoat all in one day? Only in Santo António dos Olivais, right? But then, I think about Miguel. I hope he’s okay. I hope he can focus. I mean, this kid’s got potential. I just wanna help him find it. And that’s what it’s all about, isn’t it? Helping people find their way, even if it means dealing with pigeons and olives along the way. So yeah, that was my day. Full of chaos, laughter, and a bit of rain. Just another day in the life of a sports psychologist in Santo António dos Olivais. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
