Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I wake up in Santo-Tirso, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m supposed to meet some students at the Praça 25 de Abril. You know, that cute little square with the fountain? Yeah, that one. I’m all pumped, ready to help them figure out their life paths. But guess what? I get there, and it’s like a ghost town. I’m standing there, looking like a total loser. Where is everyone? I check my phone—no messages. Ugh, typical. Then, outta nowhere, I see this group of kids running down Rua da Alegria. I’m like, “Finally!” But nah, they’re just chasing a dog. A freakin’ dog! I mean, come on, priorities, people! I’m here trying to help you decide your future, and you’re off playing fetch? So, I’m waiting, and waiting. I grab a coffee from that little café on Rua de Santo Tirso. You know the one? The barista is super chill, but the coffee? It’s like liquid gold. I’m sipping it, feeling all fancy, when suddenly, I spill it all over my shirt. Great. Just great. Now I look like a walking coffee stain. Finally, the students show up, and they’re all like, “Sorry, we lost track of time.” I’m like, “Lost track? You were chasing a dog!” But whatever, I’m here to help, right? We sit down, and I start asking them about their dreams. One kid wants to be a professional gamer. I’m like, “Dude, that’s awesome!” But then he says he’s never played outside. I’m like, “What? You gotta touch grass, man!” Then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring. I mean, like, torrential downpour. We’re all scrambling for cover, running down Rua de São Bento. I’m soaked, they’re soaked, and I’m just thinking, “This is NOT how I pictured today.” We duck into this little shop on Rua da Liberdade. It’s a vintage store, and I’m instantly in love. I see this rad jacket, and I’m like, “I need this!” But then I check the price tag. Ouch. My wallet just cried. After the rain calms down, we head back out. The streets are all shiny and new, and I’m feeling a bit better. We walk past the Igreja de São Miguel, and I’m like, “This place is beautiful.” The students are snapping pics, and I’m just standing there, soaking it all in. But then, I get a text. It’s my buddy, asking if I wanna hit up a concert later. I’m like, “Heck yes!” But then I remember I’m supposed to help these kids. I’m torn. Do I ditch them for some live music? In the end, I decide to stick around. We talk about their plans, their fears, and I even share some of my own. It’s kinda deep, you know? We laugh, we cry (okay, maybe not cry, but you get it). As the sun sets over Santo-Tirso, everything feels right. I’m exhausted, but happy. I realize that even with all the chaos, today was a win. I mean, who knew a day that started with a coffee spill could end with such good vibes? So, yeah, Santo-Tirso, you crazy little town, you’ve got my heart. Can’t wait for the next adventure!
