Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a tractor driver in São Brás de Alportel ain’t for the faint-hearted. Woke up early, sun barely peekin’ over the hills. Thought it was gonna be a chill day, ya know? Just me, my trusty ol’ tractor, and the fields. But nah, life had other plans. First off, I hit the road down Rua da Liberdade. Beautiful street, right? But today, it was like a freakin’ obstacle course. Potholes everywhere! I swear, I almost lost a wheel. I’m bouncin’ around like a pinball. Not cool, man. I’m tryin’ to keep my cool, but inside, I’m fumin’. Like, c’mon, São Brás, fix your roads! Then, I get to the fields near the Igreja Matriz. Beautiful spot, right? But guess what? Some dude’s parked his car right in the middle of the access road. I’m sittin’ there, tractor idlin’, thinkin’ “What the heck, man?” I honk my horn, but he’s just chillin’ there, oblivious. I’m like, “Dude, this ain’t a parking lot!” Finally, he moves, and I’m off, but not before givin’ him a piece of my mind. So, I’m plowin’ through the fields, and it’s actually kinda nice. The sun’s shinin’, birds are chirpin’, and I’m feelin’ good. But then, outta nowhere, a flock of those pesky seagulls swoops down. They’re dive-bombing my tractor like it’s a target practice. I’m swervin’ left and right, tryin’ to dodge ‘em. I’m yellin’ at ‘em like they can hear me. “Get outta here, ya feathered fiends!” After that chaos, I head over to the market on Rua da Praça. Man, the vibe there is always lit. Fresh fruits, veggies, and the smell of grilled sardines. I grab a quick bite, and this old lady starts tellin’ me about her garden. She’s goin’ on and on about her tomatoes. I’m like, “Lady, I’m just here for a snack!” But she’s sweet, so I listen. Then, I bump into my buddy Miguel. He’s always got some wild story. Today, he’s talkin’ about how he saw a goat on the loose near the Parque da Vila. A goat! Just runnin’ around like it owns the place. I can’t help but laugh. Only in São Brás, right? But then, the day takes a turn. I’m back in the fields, and my tractor starts actin’ up. The engine’s sputterin’, and I’m like, “No, no, no! Not now!” I’m tryin’ to fix it, but it’s like it’s possessed or somethin’. I’m gettin’ mad, kickin’ the tires, and then I just sit there, takin’ a breather. I look around, and it hits me. This place is beautiful. The hills, the trees, the people. Even with all the craziness, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I mean, sure, the roads are a mess, and the seagulls are out to get me, but it’s home. Finally, I get the tractor runnin’ again. I’m headin’ back, and I see the sunset over the hills. It’s like the sky’s on fire. I can’t help but smile. Yeah, today was a rollercoaster, but it’s days like this that make me appreciate the little things. So, I roll back into town, tired but happy. São Brás de Alportel, you crazy little town, you’ve got my heart. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
