Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I wake up in my cozy little flat on Rua da Liberdade, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I head to the café on Avenida da Liberdade. You know, the one with the best pastéis de nata? Yeah, that one. I grab my coffee, and boom! I spill it all over my shirt. Classic me, right? I’m standing there, looking like a total mess, and the barista just laughs. I mean, come on! I’m trying to enjoy my morning here! So, I’m walking down Rua da Escola, trying to shake off the coffee disaster. I’m thinking about my job as a Bildereditor. Sounds fancy, huh? But honestly, it’s just me editing pics all day. Anyway, I get a call from my boss. He’s like, “We need those edits ASAP!” Ugh, can’t a person enjoy their coffee in peace? Then, I decide to take a stroll by the beach. Praia das Maçãs is calling my name! The waves are crashing, and I’m feeling a bit better. But guess what? I see a bunch of kids flying kites, and one of them crashes right into my face! Like, seriously? I’m just trying to vibe here! After that, I’m walking along the coast, and I spot this cute little restaurant. I think, “Why not treat myself?” I order some grilled sardines. They’re amazing, but the waiter takes forever. I’m sitting there, watching the sunset, and I’m like, “This better be worth it.” Finally, the food comes, and it’s delish! I’m happy again. But then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring! I mean, come on, weather! I dash for cover under this awning on Rua da Praia. I’m soaked, and I’m just laughing at the absurdity of it all. Like, who needs a boring day, right? So, I’m waiting for the rain to chill out, and I start chatting with this old dude next to me. He’s telling me stories about São João das Lampas back in the day. Apparently, it used to be a quiet little village. Now it’s all bustling with tourists. I’m like, “Yeah, I get it. Gotta love the progress.” But also, can we keep some of the charm? Finally, the rain stops, and I’m like, “Time to head home.” I’m walking back, and I see this street performer on Rua da Liberdade. He’s playing the guitar, and it’s actually pretty good. I toss him a couple of coins, feeling all generous and stuff. But then, I trip over a crack in the sidewalk. Classic! I’m on the ground, laughing at myself. People are staring, but whatever. I get up, brush myself off, and keep walking. By the time I get home, I’m exhausted. I plop down on my couch, and I’m just thinking about how wild today was. From coffee spills to kite crashes, to rain and sardines, it was a rollercoaster. I love this place, São João das Lampas. It’s got its quirks, just like me. And even on the craziest days, it’s home. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
