Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I wake up in my tiny flat on Rua da Liberdade, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m an actuary, which means I deal with numbers all day. Boring, right? But today, I had to meet a client at Café Central. I’m thinking, “Great coffee, maybe a pastel de nata.” But nooo, the universe had other plans. I get there, and the place is packed! Like, I’m talking standing-room-only. I finally squeeze in, order my coffee, and guess what? They mess up my order. I mean, how hard is it to get a simple bica right? I’m fuming inside, but I just smile and nod. Classic me. After that, I head to the office on Avenida da República. Traffic was a nightmare! I swear, I saw a guy on a bike almost get taken out by a bus. Like, dude, you’re playing with fire! I finally get to my desk, and my boss is like, “Hey, can you run these numbers for me?” Sure, no problem. But then, my computer crashes. Just my luck, right? I’m sitting there, staring at the screen like it owes me money. Then, outta nowhere, my phone buzzes. It’s my buddy Miguel. He’s like, “Yo, let’s hit up the beach later!” I’m thinking, “Beach? In this chaos?” But then I remember Praia de Mira is just a short drive away. I could use some sun. So, I’m like, “Sure, why not?” Fast forward to later. I’m finally free, and I race to meet Miguel. The drive is wild. I’m blasting some tunes, feeling the vibe. But then, I hit a red light on Rua da Estação. I’m stuck there, and I see this street performer doing some crazy juggling act. I’m laughing, but also thinking, “Man, I should be juggling my life right now.” When I finally get to the beach, it’s packed! Families, kids, dogs—total chaos. But it’s a good chaos. I spot Miguel, and we grab some beers. The sun’s setting, and it’s beautiful. I’m feeling all the feels. Like, how did I go from a stressful day to this? But then, out of nowhere, a seagull swoops down and snatches my sandwich! I’m standing there, mouth agape, like, “Did that just happen?” Miguel is dying laughing. I’m mad, but also kinda impressed. That bird’s got skills! As the night rolls in, we hit up a local bar on Rua da Igreja. The vibe is electric. People are dancing, laughing, and I’m just soaking it all in. I even join in on a dance-off. Spoiler: I’m not a great dancer. But who cares? I’m living my best life! By the end of the night, I’m exhausted but happy. I think about how crazy today was. From coffee disasters to beach vibes, it was a rollercoaster. I head home, and as I walk down Rua da Liberdade, I can’t help but smile. Life’s unpredictable, but that’s what makes it fun, right? So yeah, that was my day in São João de Ver. Full of ups and downs, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
