Man, what a day! I swear, being a bailiff in Serpa is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I hit the streets of Serpa. You know, those narrow cobblestone paths? Yeah, they’re cute and all, but try running after a guy who owes money. Good luck! I’m dodging tourists on Rua da Liberdade, and I’m thinking, “Why are you all here? Go home!” But whatever, I’m on a mission. So, I finally catch up with this dude, Carlos. He’s at the café on Praça da República, sipping a bica like he’s got no worries. I’m like, “Hey, Carlos! You owe me!” He just laughs. I mean, who laughs at a bailiff? I’m fuming. I’m ready to flip the table, but I hold it together. Gotta keep it professional, right? Then, outta nowhere, this old lady, Dona Maria, comes up. She’s like, “Oh, my dear, don’t be so angry!” I’m thinking, “Lady, you don’t know the half of it!” But she’s sweet, so I just nod. She offers me a pastel de nata. I mean, how can you say no? I take a bite, and it’s like heaven. Suddenly, I’m not so mad anymore. Thanks, Dona Maria! But back to business. I finally corner Carlos down by the old castle, Castelo de Serpa. It’s beautiful, right? But I’m not here for the views. I’m here for my money! I confront him, and he’s like, “I’ll pay you next week.” Next week? Dude, I need it now! I’m about to lose it. Then, guess what? A goat runs past us. Yeah, a goat! Just chilling, like it owns the place. I can’t even. Carlos starts laughing again. I’m like, “Dude, focus!” But honestly, I can’t help but chuckle too. Only in Serpa, right? After that, I decide to take a breather. I stroll down Rua da Igreja, checking out the old buildings. They’re so cool, man. You can feel the history. But then, I trip over a loose stone. Classic me. I’m on the ground, and this group of kids starts laughing. Great, just great. I’m the bailiff who can’t even walk straight. Finally, I head to the local market. It’s buzzing! Fresh produce, people chatting, and the smell of grilled chorizo wafting through the air. I grab a sandwich, and it’s the best thing ever. I’m munching away, feeling good again. But then, I see Carlos again! He’s just hanging out, like he didn’t just dodge me earlier. I’m like, “Seriously, dude?” At this point, I’m exhausted. I head back to my office on Avenida da Liberdade, thinking about how crazy today was. I mean, I laughed, I got mad, I ate a pastry, and I tripped. What a mix! So, I sit down, and I’m like, “Tomorrow’s gotta be better.” But knowing Serpa, it’ll probably be another wild ride. Can’t wait!
