Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I wake up in my little workshop on Rua da Liberdade, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m trying to finish this wooden sculpture I’ve been working on for ages. It’s supposed to be a tribute to the old Tabua, you know? The one with the beautiful river and all that. But then, BAM! My neighbor’s dog, that little terror, decides to use my front porch as his personal bathroom. Ugh! I’m like, “Dude, can you not?!” But whatever, I clean it up. Gotta love the joys of artisan life, right? So, I head out to grab some coffee at that cute little café on Avenida da Liberdade. You know the one? The barista, Maria, she’s always got a smile. But today? She spills my coffee all over the counter. I’m standing there, just staring, like, “Is this a joke?” But she laughs it off, and I can’t help but chuckle too. I mean, who doesn’t love a little chaos with their caffeine? After that, I decide to take a stroll down Rua da Igreja. The vibe is nice, people are out and about, and I’m feeling good. But then, I see this street performer. He’s playing the accordion, and honestly, he’s terrible. Like, I’m no music expert, but c’mon! I’m standing there, trying not to laugh, and this old lady next to me starts dancing like it’s the best thing ever. I’m like, “You go, grandma!” It’s hilarious. Then, outta nowhere, I bump into my buddy João. He’s all excited, talking about this new art exhibit at the local gallery. I’m like, “Dude, I’m an artisan, not an art critic.” But he drags me there anyway. And wow, it’s actually pretty cool! There’s this piece made of recycled materials, and I’m just standing there, mind blown. Like, who knew trash could look so good? I’m feeling inspired, ya know? But then, the mood shifts. I get a call from my mom. She’s all upset about something. Turns out, she’s been having issues with her garden. The plants are dying, and she’s freaking out. I’m like, “Mom, it’s just a garden!” But I get it. I mean, I’d be upset too if my art was dying. So, I promise to help her out this weekend. Family first, right? After that, I’m walking back home, and I pass by the river. It’s so beautiful, especially at sunset. I stop for a sec, just taking it all in. The colors are insane! I whip out my phone to snap a pic, but my battery’s dead. Classic! I’m like, “Really, universe?!” But whatever, I just enjoy the moment. Finally, I get home, and I’m exhausted. I plop down on my couch, and I’m like, “What a day!” I think about all the craziness. The dog, the coffee spill, the art exhibit, my mom’s garden. It’s wild how one day can be a rollercoaster of emotions. But hey, that’s life in Tabua, right? Full of surprises, laughter, and a bit of chaos. And you know what? I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Tomorrow’s a new day, and who knows what’s gonna happen next? Bring it on, Tabua!
