Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being an elevator operator in Vialonga is like riding a rollercoaster, but without the safety harness. So, I roll into work, right? It’s a sunny morning, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I’m at the building on Rua da Liberdade. Sounds fancy, huh? But it’s just a regular ol’ block. I’m there, mindin’ my own biz, when this lady storms in. She’s all flustered, hair a mess, like she just ran a marathon. I’m like, “Hey, you good?” She’s like, “No! I’m late for a meeting!” I hit the button, and up we go. But then, the elevator stops. Just stops! I’m like, “Great, just great.” I’m tryin’ to calm her down, but she’s freakin’ out. I’m thinkin’, “Lady, it’s just a few floors. You’ll live!” But nah, she’s ready to call the fire department. I’m like, “Chill, we’ll be out in a sec.” Finally, I get it movin’ again, and she bolts out like she’s escaping a zombie apocalypse. Next, I’m on my break, grabbin’ a coffee at that little café on Avenida da República. You know the one? The barista’s a legend. I order my usual, and he’s like, “You want extra foam?” I’m like, “Dude, I’m not a diva. Just gimme the coffee!” But he laughs, and I can’t help but smile. Vialonga’s got that vibe, ya know? Then, I head back to work, and it’s like the universe decided to throw a party. I get a call from the front desk. “Hey, we got a stuck elevator on Rua do Comércio.” I’m like, “Of course we do!” So, I rush over, and guess what? It’s packed with people. Like, sardines in a can. I’m tryin’ to keep it light, crackin’ jokes, but they’re not havin’ it. One guy’s like, “This is ridiculous!” I’m like, “Dude, it’s Vialonga, not a theme park!” But he’s not amused. I finally get the doors open, and they spill out like it’s Black Friday. I swear, I’ve never seen people move so fast. Later, I’m on the ground floor, and this kid runs in, all excited. He’s got a balloon, right? And I’m thinkin’, “Aww, cute.” But then, he lets it go. It floats up, up, and away. I’m like, “Nooooo!” The kid’s cryin’, and I’m feelin’ for him. I mean, who hasn’t lost a balloon? It’s a tragedy! By the end of the day, I’m exhausted. I’m sittin’ on a bench at Parque da Cidade, just tryin’ to catch my breath. The sun’s settin’, and it’s beautiful. I see families, couples, and even a dog chasing its tail. I’m thinkin’, “This is what it’s all about.” But then, I hear this loud noise. A car honks, and I see some dude on Rua da Estação, yellin’ at another driver. I’m like, “C’mon, man! It’s just traffic!” But he’s livid. I can’t help but laugh. Vialonga’s got its quirks, that’s for sure. So, I wrap up my day, headin’ home, and I’m just grateful. Grateful for the chaos, the laughs, and the little moments. Vialonga, you crazy, but I wouldn’t trade ya for anything. Here’s to another wild day tomorrow!
