Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I wake up in Vila-Nova-de-Foz-Coa, right? This little gem in Portugal, surrounded by hills and the Douro River. I mean, who wouldn’t wanna start their day here? But boy, was I in for a ride. First off, I’m late. Classic me. I rush outta my flat on Rua da Liberdade, coffee in hand, and spill half of it on my shirt. Great start, huh? I’m like, “Awesome, now I look like a walking coffee stain.” But whatever, I’m a Product Manager. I can handle it. I hop on my bike, zooming down Avenida da República. The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinking, “Today’s gonna be epic!” But then, BAM! A cat darts across the street. I swerve, nearly crash into a lamppost. I’m like, “Chill, kitty! I got places to be!” Finally, I get to the office, and it’s chaos. My team’s all over the place. “Where’s the presentation?” “Did you send the email?” I’m like, “Guys, breathe! We got this!” But inside, I’m freaking out. I mean, we’re launching a new product, and I can’t have my team losing it. So, we huddle up in the conference room on Rua do Comércio. I’m trying to rally the troops, but my mind’s racing. I’m thinking about the amazing views from the Foz Coa Archaeological Park. Like, how can I focus when I could be staring at ancient rock art? Then, outta nowhere, my phone buzzes. It’s my buddy Miguel. He’s like, “Dude, you gotta check out the new café on Rua da Escola. They have the best pastel de nata!” I’m like, “Miguel, I’m in the middle of a crisis here!” But honestly, I’m tempted. Who can resist a good pastry? After what feels like a million hours, we finally nail the presentation. I’m pumped! We’re ready to roll. But then, I get a call from the higher-ups. They want changes. I’m like, “Are you kidding me? We just finished!” My blood’s boiling. I mean, can’t they see we’re in Vila-Nova-de-Foz-Coa, not some corporate jungle? I step outside to cool off. The view of the Douro is stunning. I take a deep breath. “Okay, chill. You love this place.” I think about the vineyards, the wine, the chill vibes. It helps. But then, I see a group of tourists taking selfies by the river. I’m like, “Ugh, they’re blocking my view!” I mean, come on! Can’t a local enjoy their own city? But then I remember, I was a tourist once too. So, I just roll my eyes and walk past. Back in the office, we make the changes. It’s a mad scramble, but we pull it off. I’m sweating bullets, but we present it, and guess what? They love it! I’m like, “YES! Finally!” After work, I hit up that café Miguel mentioned. The pastel de nata? OMG, it’s heavenly! I’m sitting there, savoring every bite, thinking, “This is what life’s about.” As the sun sets over Vila-Nova-de-Foz-Coa, I feel grateful. Sure, the day was a rollercoaster, but it’s my rollercoaster. I love this quirky little town. The streets, the people, the vibe. It’s home. So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but wouldn’t trade it for anything. Here’s to more crazy days in Vila-Nova-de-Foz-Coa! Cheers! 🍷
