Man, today was a wild ride in Aiud! Like, seriously, I didn’t expect this city to throw me so many curveballs. So, I woke up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up Strada Horea for some coffee. You know, the good stuff. I’m standing there, waiting for my cappuccino, and this dude in front of me orders, like, a 5-layered mocha-whatever. I’m just like, “Bro, it’s 8 AM, not a dessert shop!” But whatever, I’m not judging. I’m just trying to get my caffeine fix. Finally, I get my drink, and I’m feeling all fancy. I stroll down Strada Avram Iancu, soaking in the vibes. Aiud is kinda cute, with its old buildings and that chill vibe. But then, BAM! Outta nowhere, this stray dog runs past me, chasing a cat. I’m talking full-on cartoon chase scene. I’m laughing, but also kinda worried. Like, what if they crash into me? So, I keep walking, and I decide to check out the local market on Strada 1 Decembrie. Man, the hustle there is real! Fresh veggies, fruits, and all that good stuff. I’m eyeing some tomatoes, and this old lady starts chatting me up. She’s like, “You know, these tomatoes are the best in Aiud!” I’m thinking, “Lady, I just want to make a salad, not start a tomato revolution.” But she’s sweet, so I nod and smile. Then, I spot this street performer. He’s playing the accordion, and honestly, he’s killing it! I’m vibing, throwing some coins in his hat. But then, this group of tourists walks by, and one of them trips over the hat. Coins go flying everywhere! I’m dying laughing, but the performer? Not so much. He’s giving them the death stare. I mean, c’mon, it’s just a hat, right? After that, I’m feeling kinda peckish, so I hit up a local bakery on Strada Mihai Viteazul. I grab a pastry, and OMG, it’s like heaven in my mouth. I’m munching away, and I see this kid with ice cream. I’m like, “Why didn’t I get ice cream?” So, I finish my pastry and head to the ice cream shop. But wait! There’s a line. A long one. I’m standing there, and this guy in front of me is taking FOREVER to decide. Like, dude, it’s ice cream, not a life decision! I’m about to lose it, but then I hear a kid behind me say, “Mom, can I get two scoops?” And I’m like, “Yes, kid! Live your best life!” Finally, I get my ice cream. It’s chocolate, ofc. I’m walking down Strada Libertății, feeling like a king. But then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, seriously? I look up, and it’s sunny everywhere else. I’m sprinting for cover, ice cream in hand, trying not to drop it. I’m laughing at the absurdity of it all. I duck into a café, and guess who’s there? The accordion guy! He’s soaking wet, but he’s still playing. I can’t help but admire his dedication. I sit down, order a hot chocolate, and just chill. The rain’s pouring outside, but inside, it’s cozy. As the day winds down, I’m reflecting on all the craziness. Aiud, you’ve got my heart. From the stray dog to the old lady and the ice cream drama, it’s been a rollercoaster. I’m exhausted but happy. I think I’ll come back tomorrow. Who knows what else this city has in store for me?
