Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a barber in Anina is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I roll into the shop on Strada 1 Decembrie, right? The sun’s blazin’, and I’m already feelin’ the heat. I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First client walks in. It’s old Mr. Popescu. This dude’s got stories for days. He starts ramblin’ about the good ol’ days when Anina was all about coal mining and not just a pit stop for tourists. I’m like, “Yeah, yeah, Mr. P, tell me more.” But honestly, I’m just tryin’ to focus on not messin’ up his hair. He’s got this wild mane, like a lion, and I’m just a humble barber, not a lion tamer. Then, outta nowhere, the power goes out! I’m like, “Seriously? In the middle of a cut?” The whole street goes dark. Strada Libertății is pitch black. I’m fumblin’ around for my phone, tryin’ to use the flashlight. Mr. Popescu’s just sittin’ there, lookin’ like he’s about to have a heart attack. I’m like, “Chill, man! It’s just a haircut!” But he’s all, “I can’t see! What’s happening?” Finally, the lights flicker back on. Phew! I finish up, and he’s happy. But then, I get a text from my buddy, Vlad. He’s like, “Dude, you gotta check out the new café on Strada Victoriei.” I’m thinkin’, “After work, for sure!” But first, I gotta deal with the next client. Next up is a kid named Andrei. He’s like, what, 10? He’s got this crazy idea that he wants a mohawk. I’m like, “Bro, you sure?” He’s nodding like a bobblehead. So, I go for it. Halfway through, he’s like, “Wait, what if I look like a punk?” I’m like, “Dude, you’ll look awesome! Trust me!” I finish the cut, and he runs to the mirror. His eyes go wide, and he’s like, “I’m a rockstar!” I’m grinning ear to ear. That’s the kinda stuff that makes my day. Kids are so easy to please, ya know? But then, the mood shifts. This lady walks in, all huffy. She’s from Strada Cărbunelui, and she’s got a bone to pick. Apparently, her husband got a bad haircut last week. She’s like, “You better fix this!” I’m thinkin’, “Lady, I didn’t even cut his hair!” But I just nod and say, “Sure thing!” I’m tryin’ to fix this mess, and she’s hoverin’ over me like a hawk. I’m sweating bullets. Finally, I get it right, and she’s like, “Okay, that’s better.” I’m like, “Phew! No more angry wives today, please!” After that, I’m ready for a break. I close up shop and head to that café Vlad was raving about. It’s on Strada Victoriei, and let me tell ya, it’s got the best coffee in Anina. I grab a cappuccino, and it’s like heaven in a cup. I sit outside, watchin’ the world go by. People are strollin’ down the street, kids are playin’, and I’m just chillin’. I see the old church in the distance, and I’m reminded of how Anina’s got this mix of old and new. It’s a small town, but it’s got character. As I sip my coffee, I think about the day. The ups, the downs, the crazy clients. It’s all part of the gig. I love this town, even when it drives me nuts. Anina, you’re a wild ride, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another day in the life of a barber in Anina. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
