Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a bartender in Berca is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I roll into work at this little joint on Strada 1 Decembrie. It’s a cozy spot, ya know? But today? Today was a whole different beast. First off, I’m just setting up, pouring some drinks, and this dude walks in. He’s got this wild hair, like he just got electrocuted. I’m thinkin’, “Great, here we go.” He orders a shot of țuică, and I’m like, “You sure, buddy? It’s 10 AM!” But he downs it like it’s water. I’m impressed, but also kinda worried. Then, outta nowhere, this group of girls bursts in, all giggles and drama. They’re from Strada Muncii, and they’re celebrating something. Birthdays? Anniversaries? Who knows! They’re loud, but in a fun way. They order cocktails, and I whip up some mojitos. I’m mixing, shaking, and trying not to spill. It’s a whole vibe. But then, bam! The power goes out. Just like that. I’m standing there, in the dark, with a shaker in my hand. I can hear the girls gasping, and I’m like, “Chill, it’s just a blackout!” But inside, I’m freaking out. I can’t serve drinks without lights! So, I grab my phone, turn on the flashlight, and start pouring drinks by the glow of my screen. It’s ridiculous. I’m like a bartender in a horror movie. The girls are loving it, though. They’re taking selfies with me, and I’m just trying to keep it together. After a bit, the lights flicker back on, and I’m relieved. But then, I see this guy at the bar. He’s been nursing a beer for ages. I go over, and he’s like, “I’m waiting for my date.” I’m thinking, “Dude, she’s not coming.” But I keep my mouth shut. Fast forward a bit, and guess what? The date shows up! She’s late, but she’s a total knockout. He’s all nervous, and I’m just watching, trying not to laugh. They sit down, and I’m eavesdropping like a pro. Turns out, they met on Strada Victoriei. Classic Berca romance, right? But then, the guy spills his drink all over her. I’m dying inside. I rush over with napkins, and she’s surprisingly chill about it. “It’s fine, it’s just beer,” she says. I’m like, “Wow, she’s cool.” As the night goes on, the bar fills up. I’m pouring drinks like a madman. I’ve got locals, tourists, and even a couple of old dudes from Strada Călărași arguing about football. It’s chaos, but I love it. Then, this one guy, he’s had too much. He starts singing some old Romanian song, and everyone joins in. It’s a full-on karaoke session in the bar! I’m laughing, pouring shots, and just soaking it all in. Berca really knows how to party. But then, outta nowhere, the fire alarm goes off. Seriously? I’m like, “Not again!” Everyone’s panicking, but I’m just trying to keep it cool. I grab the emergency lights, and we all head outside. We’re standing on the street, and it’s a beautiful night. The stars are out, and I can see the old church on Strada Principală. It’s kinda magical, ya know? People are laughing, taking pics, and I’m just standing there, thinking about how wild this day has been. Finally, the fire department shows up. Turns out, it was a false alarm. Thank goodness! We all head back inside, and I’m ready to close up. As I’m cleaning up, I can’t help but smile. Berca is crazy, but it’s my crazy. I love this city, the people, the energy. Every day is a new adventure, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in Berca. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
