Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a butcher in Bradu is no walk in the park. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s barely up, and I’m already thinkin’ about the meat I gotta prep. I live on Strada Principală, and lemme tell ya, it’s a busy street. Cars zoomin’ by, people rushin’ to work. I’m just tryin’ to get my coffee in peace. First thing, I hit the market on Strada Călărași. You know, the one with the old lady sellin’ veggies? She’s a riot! Always yellin’ about her tomatoes bein’ the best. I’m like, “Lady, I’m a butcher, not a gardener!” But I love her. She’s got spunk. Anyway, I grab some fresh herbs for the day. Gotta keep the customers happy, right? So, I get back to the shop, and it’s chaos. My buddy, Ion, who helps me out, is late. Typical Ion! I’m slicin’ meat like a madman, and the phone rings. It’s Mrs. Popescu. She wants a special order for her son’s birthday. “Make it extra juicy!” she says. I’m like, “Lady, I’m not a magician!” But I promise her I’ll make it happen. Then, outta nowhere, this guy storms in. He’s all worked up, shoutin’ about some bad sausage he bought last week. I’m thinkin’, “Dude, it’s been a week! What do you expect?” But I keep my cool. I offer him a fresh pack, and he calms down. Thank goodness! I can’t deal with angry customers before my lunch break. Speaking of lunch, I finally get a minute to breathe. I head over to the little bakery on Strada Tineretului. Best pastries in town! I grab a cozonac and a coffee. I’m sittin’ there, enjoyin’ my treat, when I see this kid runnin’ after a dog. The dog’s got a baguette in its mouth! I’m laughin’ so hard, I almost choke on my cozonac. Bradu’s got its moments, ya know? After lunch, back to the grind. I’m cuttin’ meat, and the door swings open. It’s a group of tourists! They’re takin’ pics of everything. I’m like, “Hey, you wanna see how we do it?” They’re all in, takin’ selfies with the meat. I’m thinkin’, “This is wild!” But hey, if it brings in more customers, I’m all for it. Then, the day takes a turn. I get a call from my cousin. He’s in trouble. Some guys are messin’ with him down by the park on Strada Muncii. I’m like, “What the heck?!” I tell Ion to hold down the fort and rush over. I get there, and it’s a mess. But I’m not backin’ down. I step in, and let’s just say, those guys didn’t know what hit ‘em. Family’s family, ya know? After that drama, I head back to the shop. I’m exhausted but feelin’ good. I’ve got stories to tell! The sun’s settin’ over Bradu, and it’s beautiful. I’m thinkin’ about how crazy life is here. From the busy streets to the quiet moments, it’s all part of the ride. Finally, I close up shop. I’m ready to crash. But before I do, I stop by the park. I see the same kid with the dog. He’s still chasin’ that baguette! I can’t help but smile. Bradu, man. It’s got its ups and downs, but it’s home. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
