Man, today was a wild ride in Dragodana! Like, seriously, I can’t even. Woke up late, as usual. My alarm? Yeah, it totally betrayed me. So, I’m rushing outta my apartment on Strada Călărași, coffee in one hand, toast in the other. Classic me, right? First stop, the market on Strada Măgurii. I’m thinking, “Grab some fresh veggies, maybe a pastry.” But nah, the line was longer than my to-do list. I mean, c’mon! It’s just a pastry! I’m standing there, tapping my foot, and this old dude in front of me is taking his sweet time. Like, bro, it’s not a fine dining experience! Finally, I get my croissant, and it’s warm and flaky. Happiness level: 100. But then, I step outside, and boom! A pigeon decides my shoulder is the perfect landing spot. Ugh! I’m like, “Really, dude?!” I swear, that bird was laughing at me. So, I’m walking down Strada Unirii, trying to shake off the pigeon drama. The street’s buzzing, people everywhere. I love the vibe here. Street musicians, artists, and all that jazz. But then, I see this guy selling some weird-looking street food. I’m curious, right? I ask him what it is, and he says, “Mămăligă cu brânză.” I’m like, “Sounds fancy!” But it’s just cornmeal and cheese. Still, I’m down. I take a bite, and it’s surprisingly good! Like, who knew Dragodana had hidden culinary gems? I’m munching away, feeling like a local. But then, I see a group of tourists taking selfies. They’re blocking the whole sidewalk! I’m like, “Excuse me, can I just pass?” They look at me like I’m speaking Martian. After that, I head to the park near Bulevardul 1 Decembrie. It’s my chill spot. I plop down on a bench, and just breathe. The trees are swaying, kids are laughing, and I’m thinking, “Life’s not so bad.” But then, my phone buzzes. It’s my buddy, asking if I wanna hit up a bar later. I’m like, “Sure, why not?” But then, I remember I promised my grandma I’d visit her. She lives on Strada Florilor, and she’s been waiting for me. Guilt trip activated! So, I text my buddy, “Rain check?” He’s cool about it, but I can tell he’s bummed. I make my way to Grandma’s, and she’s in the kitchen, whipping up her famous sarmale. The smell hits me like a warm hug. I’m instantly happy. We chat about life, and she tells me all the gossip from the neighborhood. Apparently, Mrs. Popescu’s cat is now a local celebrity. I can’t even. After dinner, I’m stuffed. Grandma’s sarmale are legendary! I help her clean up, and she slips me a few extra rolls. “For later,” she says with a wink. Love that woman! As I’m leaving, I realize it’s dark outside. The streets of Dragodana are lit up, and it’s beautiful. I walk back home, feeling grateful. Today was a rollercoaster. From pigeon attacks to delicious food and Grandma’s love. I get home, crash on my couch, and think, “What a day!” Dragodana, you never cease to amaze me. Can’t wait for tomorrow’s adventures!
