Man, what a day! I woke up in Galati, and I swear, it felt like the universe was throwing curveballs at me left and right. First off, I hit the streets of Brăilei, thinking I’d grab a coffee at my fave spot, but guess what? Closed! Like, seriously? Who closes a coffee shop on a Tuesday? Ugh! So, I’m wandering around, and I end up on Domnească Street. It’s like the main artery of the city, ya know? Packed with people, cars honking, and the smell of street food wafting through the air. I’m starving, but I’m also in a hurry. Classic me. I spot a food truck selling langos. I mean, who can resist that? I grab one, and it’s like heaven in my mouth. But then, bam! A pigeon swoops down and snatches a piece right outta my hand! Like, dude, that’s my lunch! I’m standing there, flabbergasted, while this bird just flies off like it owns the place. After that, I’m trying to shake off the pigeon drama, and I head towards the Danube. The view is stunning, right? The water glistening, boats cruising by. I take a deep breath, trying to chill. But then, I see this group of tourists trying to take a selfie. They’re all crowded around, and one of them drops their phone right into the river! I’m like, “No way!” But they just laugh it off. I mean, who loses a phone in the Danube and laughs? Only in Galati, I guess. So, I keep walking, and I hit the old part of the city. The architecture is wild! You got these old buildings mixed with modern stuff. It’s like Galati can’t decide what it wants to be. I love it! But then, I trip over a cobblestone. Classic me again. I’m sprawled out on the ground, and this old lady walks by, looks at me, and says, “You okay, young man?” I just laugh and say, “Yeah, just practicing my parkour skills!” She rolls her eyes and keeps walking. Then, I decide to pop into a local shop on 1 Decembrie. I’m looking for a gift for my buddy’s birthday. The shopkeeper is this super chatty guy. He starts telling me about the history of Galati, how it used to be a major port and all that jazz. I’m nodding along, but inside, I’m just thinking about how I need to get back to work. Time’s ticking, ya know? Finally, I grab a quirky little souvenir – a tiny ship model. I’m like, “Perfect!” But as I’m leaving, I bump into this guy. He’s all dressed up, looking sharp. Turns out, he’s some big shot from the port. We start chatting, and he invites me to a networking event later. I’m like, “Sure, why not?” But inside, I’m freaking out. Networking? Ugh, not my thing! Fast forward to the evening. I’m at this fancy place on Siderurgiștilor, and it’s packed. I’m awkwardly standing there, trying to blend in. But then, I spot a familiar face – my old college buddy! We start reminiscing about the good ol’ days, and suddenly, I’m feeling all nostalgic. We laugh, we joke, and I forget about the awkwardness. But then, the food comes out. It’s this fancy dish, and I’m like, “What even is this?” I take a bite, and it’s… interesting. Not bad, but definitely not what I expected. I make a face, and my buddy just cracks up. “You’re such a foodie snob!” he says. Guilty as charged! By the end of the night, I’m exhausted but happy. Galati, you crazy city, you’ve thrown me through the wringer today. From pigeon attacks to unexpected networking, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I head home, thinking about how wild life can be. Tomorrow’s another day, and who knows what Galati has in store for me? Bring it on!
