Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a radio operator in Horodnic-de-Sus is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I grab my coffee from that little place on Strada Principală. You know the one? The barista, Ana, she’s got this smile that could light up the whole city. But today, she’s all frazzled. Turns out, the espresso machine broke. I mean, c’mon! How do you start a day without espresso? I’m already feelin’ the caffeine withdrawal kick in. So, I head to the station on Strada Cernăuți. It’s a small place, but it’s home. I get in, and boom! The radio’s buzzing like a swarm of bees. Calls coming in from everywhere. “We got a situation on Strada Mărășești!” I’m like, “What now?” Turns out, some dude decided to park his car in the middle of the street. Like, seriously? Who does that? Traffic’s backed up for miles. I’m on the radio, trying to coordinate with the cops. “Yo, can we get someone to move this car?” But it’s like talking to a brick wall. Then, outta nowhere, I get a call about a cat stuck in a tree. I’m like, “Really? A cat? In the middle of a traffic jam?” But hey, it’s Horodnic-de-Sus. We love our pets. So, I send a couple of guys over. They’re laughing, I’m laughing, but inside I’m like, “This is not what I signed up for!” After that, I get a call about a festival on Strada Unirii. They’re setting up for some local event. I’m thinkin’, “Finally, something fun!” But then I hear the music. It’s blaring, and I can’t hear myself think. I’m trying to keep track of everything, and all I can hear is this awful pop song. I swear, if I hear that chorus one more time, I might lose it. But then, just when I thought it couldn’t get crazier, I get a call about a lost kid. My heart drops. I’m like, “Oh no, not this!” I start coordinating with everyone. “Check the park, check the shops!” I’m pacing, my mind racing. But then, a few minutes later, I hear the best news ever. The kid’s found! He was just at the ice cream shop on Strada Băii. Phew! I’m finally catching my breath when I get a call about a street performer. This guy’s juggling fire on Strada Gării. I’m like, “Dude, it’s not a circus!” But people are loving it. I can’t help but smile. It’s moments like this that make Horodnic-de-Sus special. As the day winds down, I’m exhausted. I head back to that coffee shop. Ana’s there, and guess what? The espresso machine is fixed! I order a double shot, and it’s like heaven in a cup. I sit outside, watching the sunset over the hills. I think about the day. The chaos, the laughter, the stress. It’s all part of the job. And honestly? I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Horodnic-de-Sus, with all its quirks and surprises, is my home. So yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in this crazy little town. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
