Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a parachutist firefighter in Letcani is like riding a rollercoaster that’s on fire. Seriously, I woke up this morning, and the sun was shining over Strada 1 Decembrie. I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. So, I’m sippin’ my coffee, right? Just trying to enjoy the view of the hills around the city. Then, boom! My radio crackles. “Fire at the old factory on Strada Călărași!” My heart drops. That place is a wreck. I mean, it’s like a tinderbox waiting to go up in flames. I gear up, and let me tell ya, the adrenaline is pumping. I hop on the truck, and we zoom through the streets. Strada Principală is packed, but we’re weaving in and out like we’re in a Fast & Furious movie. I’m hanging out the window, yelling at people to move. “Get outta the way, folks! Firefighter comin’ through!” We finally get to the factory, and it’s chaos. Flames are shooting up like they’re auditioning for a role in a disaster movie. I can see the smoke from a mile away. My buddy, Alex, is already on the roof, ready to jump. I’m like, “Dude, you sure about this?” He just grins and says, “What’s life without a little risk?” Classic Alex. I strap on my parachute and take a deep breath. The view from up there is insane. You can see all of Letcani— the parks, the houses, even the little market on Strada Măgurii. But then I see it. A family trapped on the second floor. Panic sets in. I’m like, “No way I’m leaving them behind!” I jump. The wind’s whipping past me, and I’m thinking, “This better be worth it.” I land on the roof, roll, and sprint to the window. The heat is intense. I can feel it on my face. I shout, “Hey! I’m here to help!” The mom looks at me like I’m a superhero or something. I mean, I’m just a dude in a jumpsuit, but whatever. I get them out, and we make our way down. The little kid is crying, and I’m trying to be all cool, like, “Hey buddy, you’re gonna be fine!” But inside, I’m freaking out. We get to safety, and I’m like, “Phew! That was close!” But then, just when I think it’s over, I hear a loud crash. A wall collapses! I’m like, “What the heck?!” I turn around, and there’s more fire. I’m getting mad now. Why can’t this day just chill for a sec? We regroup, and I’m back in the air. This time, I’m aiming for the other side of the building. I land, and it’s like a scene from a movie. Fire everywhere, smoke billowing. I can’t see a thing. I’m yelling for my team, but it’s chaos. Finally, we get it under control. I’m drenched in sweat, and my heart’s racing. I look around, and the streets of Letcani are filled with people watching. Some are cheering, others are just staring. I’m like, “Yeah, just another day at the office, folks!” As the sun sets, I’m sitting on the curb, catching my breath. The adrenaline is fading, and I’m just grateful. Grateful for the family we saved, for my team, and for this crazy city. Letcani, you’re wild, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another day of jumping into the fire—literally. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.
