Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I’m a clergyman, right? But today, I felt more like a circus performer in Manesti. Yeah, that’s right, Manesti! This little gem in Romania, where the streets are alive and the people are... well, let’s just say they keep you on your toes. So, I woke up, and the sun was shining. I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Little did I know. I grabbed my coffee from that tiny café on Strada Principală. You know the one? The one with the weirdly good pastries? Yeah, that place. I swear, their croissants are like little clouds of happiness. But I digress. I was heading to the church, right? Just a normal day of preaching and praying. But as I walked down Strada Măgurii, I saw this commotion. A bunch of folks were gathered around, and I’m like, “What now?” Turns out, some guy was trying to sell a goat. A goat! In the middle of the street! I mean, who does that? I couldn’t help but laugh. The goat was just standing there, looking confused, like, “Why am I here?” So, I’m standing there, watching this unfold, and I’m thinking, “Man, I should’ve brought my camera.” But then, out of nowhere, this lady starts yelling at the guy. “You can’t sell goats here!” she screams. I’m like, “Lady, it’s Manesti. Anything goes!” But she was having none of it. After that little circus, I finally made it to the church. But guess what? The door was locked! I mean, come on! I’m the clergyman! I should have the keys! So, I’m standing there, knocking like a madman, and finally, old Mr. Ionescu shows up. He’s the caretaker, and he’s got this grin like he just won the lottery. “Sorry, Father! I forgot!” I could’ve lost it, but I just chuckled. Once inside, I started my sermon. You know, the usual stuff about love, kindness, and all that jazz. But halfway through, this kid in the back starts making these weird noises. I’m trying to keep it together, but I’m cracking up. I mean, come on! It’s Manesti! You never know what’s gonna happen next. After the service, I decided to take a stroll down Strada Tineretului. It’s a nice street, full of life. I love the vibe there. But then, I saw this street performer. He was playing the accordion, and let me tell you, he was terrible! Like, really bad. But the crowd was loving it! They were dancing and laughing, and I thought, “This is what life’s about.” But then, out of nowhere, it started to rain. I mean, really rain. I was soaked in seconds. I ducked into a little shop on Strada Călărași to escape. The owner, a sweet old lady, offered me a towel and a piece of cake. I mean, who does that? I was so grateful. So, I’m sitting there, eating cake, and I overhear these two guys talking about the local football team. They were arguing about who’s the best player. I couldn’t help but chime in. “Dude, it’s obviously Andrei!” They looked at me like I was crazy. But hey, I’m a clergyman, I know my stuff! Finally, the rain stopped, and I headed home. I was exhausted but happy. Manesti had thrown everything at me today. Goats, locked doors, terrible accordion players, and cake! What a mix! As I lay in bed, I thought about the day. It was chaotic, but it was real. That’s what I love about this place. It’s messy, unpredictable, and full of surprises. Just like life, right? So, here’s to Manesti! The city that keeps me on my toes. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
